Sherry Beraeron - <br /> Sherry Bergeron and her daughter Melissa arrived at 7 p.m. David presented Sherry with a floral arrangement <br /> and thanks on behalf of the Trustees,the Friends and the whole Library family for running the Artisans Fair <br /> for the past two years and achieving such success nth the event. David said Sherry"s husband, father and her <br /> Whole family was involved in the effort. Sherry then exited the meeting. <br /> roai of Minutes <br /> Fancy Soderberg motioned to accept the minutes of August 15, 2006 as amended; Carlo I 'Este seconded this <br /> motion; and all Trustees present approved the motion. <br /> Building Comm ittee <br /> David thanked Shelly Gilbert for all the work he had clone on the Building Committee. Shelly gave David a <br /> copy of a draft entitled "New Strategy for the Mashpee Library"that he prepared. David said the Trustees <br /> would review this draft and discuss it at their next meeting, as well as at the Ad Hoc Committee meeting. <br /> Shelly said he is going to call one more Building Committee meeting. First he's going to talk with Joyce <br /> mason. <br /> Ad Hoc Committee Report <br /> Carlo f 'Bste, Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee, reported that the Committee had 2 meetings since last <br /> month's Trustee meeting. Carlo distributed a draft of the results of the Ad Hoc Committee's efforts and he <br /> explained and emphasized the critical importance of having a vision and plan for building the library. <br /> Basically, identify clearly what needs to be clone and present a plan on how to do it. The important issues <br /> raised in the draft and discussed included tile following: <br /> • Plan"X'which is most important and is one to address now is the financial plan. How to finance <br /> building the Library following Falmouth model should be worked on now. Plan: Save the $2.5 <br /> Million grant. <br /> • Plan"'B" is to develop strategy and means of garnering public support. Carlo suggested that <br /> developing a database to enable e-nailing information out to the public is critical. Question: How do <br /> we do this? <br /> In developing information for presentation to make it work, keep it simple. Falmouth did it right; <br /> Mashpee should do it right. <br /> First steps: Have inf nasal meetings with Selectmen Cook and Town Manager Joyce Mason. When <br /> meet with Board of Selectmen,FinCom, and Public Meeting(s). <br /> • Carlo suggested addressing publicity by- <br /> Getting Moms involved <br /> Get database set up for sending e-mails out <br /> Neighborhoods to get involved. Carlo asking permission to use New Seabury Association <br /> database <br /> Seek Matt Patrick and Senator O'Leary support <br /> Ask Falmouth how much they are saving by moving forward <br /> Reach out to everyone.'..businesses, as well as individuals and groups <br /> • Shelly said he already requested the Financial Director to give layout on what a 20-year bond <br /> authorization would require and the declining tax rate over the 20 years. <br /> 2 <br />
