- BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> REGULAR M me' YMEETING <br /> TUESD Y9 DECEMBER 129 2006 <br /> MASHP AR <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo D'Este,Heather Lakato ,Dianna Smith,Nancy Stafford,Nancy Soderberg, <br /> Ann MacDonald-Dailey(via conference call from Florida), and Helene DeFoe, Library Director. <br /> Also Present: Sheldon Gilbert. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. <br /> AiDproval of Minutes <br /> Manna Smith motioned to accept the minutes of October 171, 2006 and November 13, 2006 as written, Carlo <br /> 'Este seconded this notion; and it was unanimously passed. <br /> Re its <br /> Helene distributed copies of her monthly report for November and the November CENTS circulation <br /> statistics report. These reports were reviewed and discussed and are attached to the printed set of these <br /> minutes. <br /> Helene thearovided copy r�Y 2008 budget she submitted,along with the Library Budget Narrative. <br /> p <br /> Helene will be meeting with Joyce Mason, Town Manager, on this budget tomorrow morning. Helene <br />} <br /> informed the Trustees that they have now been told how to input the Narrative portion so it connects with the <br /> budget and ill carry over in Future years. Nancy Soderberg asked if the budget submitted is recommended <br /> by the Town does it still go to town meeting. Helene explained that all budgets are approved at Town Meeting <br /> y the voters. <br /> IS...Helene-explained the training they were given on this system and she noted that the map of Mashpee <br /> streets displayed in the Library was printed from the GIS system. <br /> Libran Bui1dL'qg_Proiect <br /> David said that Shelly is here as a guest and interested by-stander. There followed Mn-depth discussion on <br /> various issues surrounding the library building project...highlights included: <br /> No definite dates on when legislature would meet on bond authorization. <br /> Grants...Lengthy discussion on the importance and criticality of knowing what grants have been <br /> applied for and putting effort behind applying for those grants still outstanding. Consensus of Trustees <br /> was that Torn "Neill is a valuable asset to the library project and has done much for the library and <br /> because of time constraints perhaps his efforts could i be blended with Friends and hopefully Tom and <br /> Kristin Boyd could work together to accomplish all that needs to be done to move grant applications <br /> forward. Information needed from Tom is a list of foundations that have been sent grant applications, <br /> and what can Friends pick up and do now to assist his efforts. <br />
