October 5 1h was a Mashpee Public Schools In-Service day so the library sponsored <br /> performance of The Amazing Richard Magic Show. The attendance was 45. <br /> I attended a meeting of the Upper Cape Family Network on October 11 at the Sandwich <br /> Public Library. This is a grant from the Department of Education which brings us <br /> Rosemary Modic and Kathy Gattoni. <br /> Two first grade classes from the K.C. Coombs School scheduled walking field trips to the <br /> library during the month of October. Mrs. Wilber"s first grade class visited the library on <br /> October 12 . There were 23 participants who had a tour of the library, storytime and <br /> checked out books Mrs. Cog swell's first grade also visited the library on October 1P. <br /> Her class had 25 participants. <br /> attended the Mashpee Community Partnership Council meeting n October 1 . <br /> On October 17th I attended the Children's Librarians roundtable meeting in Breter. <br /> The 'title I teachers from the K.C. Coombs School scheduled their annual meeting at the <br /> library on October l P. Both children and parents were invited to hear about what the <br /> library has to offer, a story time, craft activity and a snack. The attendance this year was <br /> 23. <br /> I met with Susan Humberd, an educational sales consultant who represents 16 different <br /> publishers, on October 20. She is very knowledgeable in helping me to select new non- <br /> fiction, curriculum related titles for our collection. <br /> committee of students from the pe Iigh School Key Club organized a Pajama <br /> Storytime which was held on October 25h.- met with two Key Club members prior to <br /> the event to help them select appropriate titles and to plan a craft activity. I had expected <br /> 3 teens to read that evening, however, 13 teens showed up. There were 7 children <br /> dressed in Pajamas who enjoyed listening to the teens read and they all did the"'Spooky <br /> Loo"together. All of the teens also participated in the craft activity. I thinly the teens had <br /> as much fun as the children and their families! Total participation was 23. The Key Club <br /> has planned a series of Pajama Storytimes every two weeks through the month of <br /> December. <br /> T <br />
