BOARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES � <br /> REGULAR MOT Y MEETING <br /> TIES AY,FEBRUARY 12, 2008 <br /> MAS EE LIBRARY MEETING Root' <br /> 'resent: David Burton, Carlo D'Este,Dianna Smith,Jane Dolan,Heather Lak tos,Nancy Soderberg(arrived <br /> 6:50 p.m.), and Helene DeFoe, Library Director). . . <br /> Absent: Aran MacDonald-Dailey <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Dianna Smith motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of January,8, 2008 as written; Heather Lakatos <br /> seconded this motion; and all members present approved the motion,except David Burton, who abstained. <br /> Reports . . <br /> Helene DeFoe submitted her monthly report, as well as the Clam s circulation statistics report for January. <br /> Janet urke's monthly report for January was also provided to the Trustees. All reports.were reviewed and <br /> discussed. The reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Helene informed the Trustees that Bill H4455 in the amount of$2.5 Billion was signed by the Governor. The <br /> library construction portion. f the Bill i $100 Million. Helene explained that the various library groups are <br /> looking to go to Boston for the public hearing when H4455 is presented for vote. Those going to represent <br /> support for the library construction bond would wear buttons to show support for the library-building bond. <br /> Helene will keep the Trustees updated on this matter. <br /> Library BuildingPro*e t <br /> Helene informed the Trustees that Barbara Notariu ,President of the Friends of the Library, met with Joyce <br /> Mason and Steve Cook and the Friends would contribute $ 5, o toward"green"energy for the new library <br /> building. <br /> Helene advised that the-Subcommittee and others went as a group to Pembroke Library and met with Patience <br /> Jackson. Patience made some very valuable suggestions..for changes to the design plans. A copy of Rick <br /> omroy's notes of the meeting is attached to the printed set of these minutes. Helene said Rick f omroy is the <br /> Owner's Project Manager for the library-building project. <br /> Helene informed the Trustees that she has started posting building updates on the library web page and she <br /> r= <br /> intends to update once a nmorith. <br /> Jane Dolan asked whether there.was any plan to change the front exterior of the building since it looks as <br /> though it might be too dark in the front area. Helene said,if-front not changed, perhaps lighting could be <br /> added if, in fact,there was not enough light. <br /> David Burton read to the Trustees a memo dated January 7, 2007 (sic)that.invites the Trustees to attend <br /> Planning and Construction Commit ee meetings. Included in the mem is statement that ihe commute <br /> insists the Trustee members not directly contact the owner's project manager, architect or engineers. A copy <br />
