The Trustees were in total agreement that all contact should be to Planning and Construction and the Committee Chairman, Steve Cook, be the direct contact with anyone working on the project. Pianmng and Construction Committee Nancy Soderberg reported she attended last night's meeting of Planning and Construction Committee. Among the topics discussed concerning the library project were the fallowing: Architect Stewart Roberts moving forward with design plans and updated plans to be submitted to Planning and Construction Committee at heir next meeting. Adjustments made on the plans for the x divider for the meeting room. Have to go.to ZBA to secure variance to align with the 40-foot variance Mashpee Commons secured for their buildings. Mechanical electrical engineers to present different heatin&ooling systems to the committee and give cosh for the different systems as well as what the payback would be for"green"enemy systems. RFP for interim location of current library to go out,by next week at the latest. Issues to be worked out with Mashpee Commons include: sidewalk, Swale, parking lots, easements, Steeple Street W'deni g, etc. Joyce Mason and Town Counsel will be involved in working out easements, etc. Shed at current library has to be moved during construction. No obection From"down Hall to temporly place the shed on property behind Tow.Hall,but a permanent location would have to be found. Friends of the Libra Helene said that last summer Janet Burke mentioned she wanted a laptop just for children to do online registration for the summer-reading program. Barbara Notarious saw an ad for one child; one computer and the Friends purchased an XL computer for the children: Helene said the computer carne with no instructions but the children are so intuitive and are using it with no problem. Heather passed along information received from Barbara Notarious that Nancy Stafford will no longer be doing the newsletter. Nancy will finish the February issue. Barbara is looking for someone else to do the newsletter. Suggestions: high school student(s)or Heather's neighbor who does graphic work might be possibilities for Barbara to pursue. Friends' website is being taken over by another resource so the Friends and Library can keep the posted information current. Heather said Barbara has following fundraisers lined up: • May 1 —Touch-A-Truck at the High School, Food vendors gill be set up and they're going to try and get about 35 different true. • July—Casino night. • August 4 and 5—Another group sponsoring Artisan's Fair on the green. Friends will attach to that event and have book sales and other fundraising events.
