The Trustees were in total agreement that all <br /> contact should be to Planning and Construction and the Committee Chairman, Steve Cook, be the direct <br /> contact with anyone working on the project. <br /> Pianmng and Construction Committee <br /> Nancy Soderberg reported she attended last night's meeting of Planning and Construction Committee. Among <br /> the topics discussed concerning the library project were the fallowing: <br /> Architect Stewart Roberts moving forward with design plans and updated plans to be submitted to <br /> Planning and Construction Committee at heir next meeting. Adjustments made on the plans for the <br /> x divider for the meeting room. <br /> Have to go.to ZBA to secure variance to align with the 40-foot variance Mashpee Commons secured <br /> for their buildings. <br /> Mechanical electrical engineers to present different heatin&ooling systems to the committee and give <br /> cosh for the different systems as well as what the payback would be for"green"enemy systems. <br /> RFP for interim location of current library to go out,by next week at the latest. <br /> Issues to be worked out with Mashpee Commons include: sidewalk, Swale, parking lots, easements, <br /> Steeple Street W'deni g, etc. Joyce Mason and Town Counsel will be involved in working out <br /> easements, etc. <br /> Shed at current library has to be moved during construction. No obection From"down Hall to <br /> temporly place the shed on property behind Tow.Hall,but a permanent location would have to be <br /> found. <br /> Friends of the Libra <br /> Helene said that last summer Janet Burke mentioned she wanted a laptop just for children to do online <br /> registration for the summer-reading program. Barbara Notarious saw an ad for one child; one computer and <br /> the Friends purchased an XL computer for the children: Helene said the computer carne with no instructions <br /> but the children are so intuitive and are using it with no problem. <br /> Heather passed along information received from Barbara Notarious that Nancy Stafford will no longer be <br /> doing the newsletter. Nancy will finish the February issue. Barbara is looking for someone else to do the <br /> newsletter. Suggestions: high school student(s)or Heather's neighbor who does graphic work might be <br /> possibilities for Barbara to pursue. <br /> Friends' website is being taken over by another resource so the Friends and Library can keep the posted <br /> information current. <br /> Heather said Barbara has following fundraisers lined up: <br /> • May 1 —Touch-A-Truck at the High School, Food vendors gill be set up and they're going to try and <br /> get about 35 different true. <br /> • July—Casino night. <br /> • August 4 and 5—Another group sponsoring Artisan's Fair on the green. Friends will attach to that <br /> event and have book sales and other fundraising events. <br />
