During the discussion, Helene also advised the Trustees of
the following:
• Lawyers are reviewing the contract language for temporary library space at Joy Street, South Cape village.
• Address is 5 through 7 Joy Street.
rnic Virgilio said he will need about 6 weeks to finish things off so that takes us to raid-May;looking for June
I opening.' This will deftely be a push.
Lease price: $65,000 to cover up to 22 months.
• $100, 0 in budget for leasing and moving. Right now idea is Sheriff's"crew'and DPW will do the move,
along with volunteer help.
During April staff will park items not going to the temporary location and the packed items will be sent to
Flagship self-storage in space they've donated.
We're using Falmouth Library's old shelving for temporary library site,
• Patience Jackson will send letter to Mate Building Department to try to get infornatn as to whether or not the
new hunting code revisions passed or not. If revision not passed, then architect will acid a l itonal stairway to
the plans as discussed previously.
,2 weeks ago Planning and Construction Subcommittee agreed the new library building would look better-10 feet
off`the sidewalk, rather than 5 feet. In addition, based on Stewart Robert's Presentation, they agreed top of the
building should be shingles;bottom in masonry. Rick-Pon roy met with Doug Storrs, but Doug was not
impressed with shingles. So tomorrow a small groin, including Joycc Mason, will meet with Doing and show
him Stewart's 3D rendering.
0 Town goes not want Library Post Office parking lots connected, but Doug Storrs feels they need the 2 lots to
connect.
• At last Subcommittee meeting, Route 151 Library entrance changed to remove the short coeur ns. Helene said
this really made a difference.,.really gave an open appearance to the entrance.
Solar panels were originally on the front roof but with mounting it was not attractive. A number of panels could
go on the flat roof so they wouldn't all have to go on front. Stewart working on making ng this work.
Helene explained some of the benefits of the grant-writing workshop she attended. She said she did get a lot out of it.
