t; Friends Mashpee Public LibraEj, Annual Meeting, October 2,2008 i The Board meeting was an abbreviated one, given that the agenda was very similar to the FMPL Annual Meeting which followed. Both meetings tools place at the Senior Center, with the Board scheduled at :30 PM, followed by the Annual Meeting at +7:00 PM. Board President, Barbara l otarius, presided. A quorum was present. 2) The first order of business was approval of the Minutes of the September Meeting- Denise Carroll. 3 summary of the financial report, while scheduled, was not presented due the detainment of Treasurer, Leslie Marsh. 4) A brief discussion was held relative to additional Naming Opportunities, with an u date in the form of a handout of"gifts" received and potential for ether naming opportunities. A "contacts" portion of this hand out(inclusive with this report)provides potential donors with the means to select the type of naming opportunity they may be interested in and how to contact the Friends. A copy provided for each-Trustee. 5) The main thrust of this meeting was big fund raisers for 09. A. Mystery at Library Auction, July 2Friday), Christ The King Church, inclusive with the ticket price of o per person, a catered dinner(Chef Roland), Tony's Bar Service( 20 % going to the Friends), entertainment, Silent and Live Auctions, Prizes for those who solve the mystery revealed through out the evening. Goal: 300 tickets sold. B. Artisan's Fair, August 14 Ih rain date 15 I" , hopefully at the Mashpee Commons Green, with village crafters and live entertainment provided by the Russ Wilcox Jaz, Group. C. Touch a Truck, September 12, 2009, Mashpee High School. 6) Call for Membership in FMPL, see handout form seeping contact information and areas of potential interests for new members. 7) Adopt new FMPL By-Laws: Up slate on FMPL involvement with Christmas Parade: Discussion about Paul Gentile's excellent contribution to FMPL web site, now on line. 8) Goals of FMPL, $40,000 annual gift to the Mashpee Public Library, Funding for audio/visual equipment, Endowment to fund future events; non-voting member from Mashpee High School, Junior or Senior class to sit on FMPL Board. 9 Adjourn 8:00 PSI.
