BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES - <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br /> MONDAY,AUGUST 17,2009 <br /> TOWN BALL MEETING ROOM <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo D'Este, John Kowalski, Patricia Gamache, Jane Dolan,Nancy Soderberg, <br /> Dianna Smith, and Helene Deli oe, Library Director. <br /> David Burton, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> Areal of Minutes <br /> Carlo D' ste motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of July 21 2009 as amended; Jane Dolan <br /> seconded this motion; and the motion was approved,with Dianna Smith abstaining. <br /> Reports <br /> Helene DeFoe reported in detail the topics listed in her monthly reports for July. Her July report,the CLAMS <br /> circulation statistics report for July, and Janet urke's monthly report for July were reviewed and discussed. <br />' All reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. In addition to the reports,the following natters <br /> were also discussed. <br /> Helene advised that they started masonry on the nein library building about 3 weeks ago. She said if <br /> you go to the lit. 151 side of the building, the masonry is pretty much to the roof on that entrance that <br /> will be coning off the pig lot so you can really get an idea of what the building is going to look <br /> like. <br /> Helene showed the Canon Poershot camera to the Trustees. The Trustees were pleased with this <br /> purchase. Helene demonstrated the camera and took photos of the Trustees. <br /> David mentioned that perhaps the statistics, etc. of Ielene's reports should be mentioned at the Board <br /> of Selectmen meeting tonight to give them an idea of the necessity ofthe warrant article being <br /> proposed by the Trustees. <br /> 0 Helene said Janet Burke sat on an interviewing board for the person who is going to run the'Mashpee <br /> Community Partnership. The previous person resigned in the middle of this whole thing as to how <br /> they were going to spread out the money. It will be interesting to see how this works out. <br /> 0 David thanked Helene for contacting everyone about submitting the request to Governor-Patrick to <br /> sign the $500,000 library funding bill; and David thanked the Trustees for also sending `thank you <br /> to the Governor for signing the bill. <br /> Library Project <br />' Jane Dolan said she attended the August 6th Planning and Construction Meeting. Jane and Helene provided <br /> the Trustees with the following updates: <br /> Masonry was to be started and windows would be going in. <br /> Contractor nmning about a month behind schedule because of all the-rain in June and they are hoping <br /> to make that time up. Helene added that they've probably already made up some of the brine. Helene <br /> said they are going to have a subcommittee meeting and at that time the contractor is going to give a <br /> make-up schedule showing haw they can make up some of the time. <br />
