The Silverfish Book Club for 2"d and 3rd graders met on March 29th. 10 out of the 12 registered members participated this month. Parents provide the snack while we discuss the monthly book. Then the children participated in a craft activity and a game. The Cape Cod Children's Librarians Roundtable met here in Mashpee on March 301h. We discussed our annual Family Library Event—a wrap up of the 2011 event and planning our 2012 event; a recent Policy Workshop; the online summer reading program; and plans for the Summer Reading Program, "One World, Many Stories'. The Mashpee Head Start Preschool Program held a "Family Evening at the Library" on March 315t. The Head Start teacher asked me to provide a tour of the library and an explanation of what the library has to offer. I also presented a story time for the children and assisted the parents to obtain their library cards. Out of 20 Head Start families, only two families participated —a total of 6 people. Rosemary Modic, Early Childhood Specialist, is running two sessions of Toddle Time each week which is supported by the Coalition for Children. The Coalition for Children is also supporting a weekly Creative Movement class and a Mixed Age Playgroup. The Mashpee Family and Community Partnership is sponsoring Lap Babies.
