t
Mashpee Public Library
Library Use Policy
The Mashpee Public Library is intended to provide access to library materials,
information and equipment, and to serve as a location for reading, learning,
seeking information, and attending Library or community sponsored
programs, cultural activities, and meetings.
The Children's Department is reserved for use by children, their parents or
guardians, and adults interested in children's literature.
Seating in the Young Adults' Room is reserved for young adults (ages 12-18)
and those who accompany them. Adults interested in young adult literature
are welcome to browse the shelves.
Use of the library's "Young Adult Room" during non-school hours is limited to
students currently enrolled in either middle or high school or to students
being "home-schooled" who are of similar age.
To assure that the Library will be enjoyed by all patrons, the following rules
and regulations shall be observed. Enforcement of these rules will be
implemented by Library staff.
Bicycles and other wheeled devices:
Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, or similar equipment may not
be used in the building or the parking lot. Bicycles should be left outside the
building in such a way that they do not obstruct access to the walkways and
entrances.
Cell phones:
Although the Library does not encourage the use of cell phones in the
building, we do understand that there are times when such use may be
necessary. During those times, we ask that you be considerate and
respectful of others by following these guidelines:
• Please put your phone on vibrate or silence when in the library.
• Limit your calls to brief, quiet conversations.
