During the month of June w
added 666 new items to the collection, which was the result of a strong effort by staff to increase
the n rriber of items available. (In May, 277 items were added, while mother 424 items ere
added in April.)
.OTHER ACTIVITY
On June 139 I attended the CLAMS Library Director's meeting at Cape Cod Community
College. The CLAMS consortium welcomed three Martha's vineyard libraries as new
members: A juin ah, Chilmark, and West Tisbury. This might reduce the cost of membership
fees slightly, but since the new members are relatively small libraries, there may not be a
significant cost savings. A good deal of time was spent discussing the purchase of digital
i
resources for-the membership. The state recently cut funding which covered the cost of ars
online subscn* tion to the Cape Cod Times online for all member libraries. If the consortium
purchases this resource for all members, the cost for Mashpee will be approximately $75041100
per year in addition to membership fees. This will be discussed and deliberated at the August
meeti
