t <br /> i <br /> The committee discussed at length the fact that Mashpee is currently involved in <br /> the Cape Cod Consortium. Committee members are not comfortable with the <br /> �ra�Y in which the decision for Mashpee to be involved was decided. The <br /> committee feels strongly that Mashpee is large tern that will b able t support <br /> itself in the negotiations and because f the size, will need t be extremely <br /> involved in all negotiations. The committee feels that there are not strong <br /> benefits for Mashpee to be involved in the Consortium. The committee is <br /> questioning the possibility of withdrawing from the Consortium and inquiring as t <br /> Erhart the ramifications of this would be. <br /> Mr. Chisholm made ar motion that a request be made to Town Administrator <br /> 1l hit n ur and Selectman Il r t r to attend an informational meeting with the <br /> committee members to clarify the committee's responsibility and exactly what i <br /> expected of there. Mr. Dussr seconded. Motion carried. <br /> The following are comments by Mr. Eliason on the response to the RTF: <br /> Page 3: the expiration dame of the current contract is October 1s' <br /> Page 8, #5: Negotiate hander for Second language programming <br /> ## : There is no scheduled date to incorporate digital thnologyrul <br /> like to find ghat it will bring to us and hoer it will benefit u <br /> #14: Standard installment footage? The original standard instillation <br /> footage was 30feet and Mr. Eliaron is going to confirm that that has not <br /> changed. He wants to make sure it has not decreased <br /> #19: Media One is unwilling to connect all Cape Cod town to offer cape <br /> gide television. The committee is against it <br /> ##21: $21,000 for peg access equipment for use of the Media One studio. <br /> Mr. Eli son requested that everyone on the committee take a good look at <br /> the money statements <br /> Page 13: there are numbers from il,lledi One/ the committee wuld like t <br /> know hover they arrived at the number of subscribers <br /> Page 15: Regarding communication between the schools and public <br /> buildings/ the committee is not aware f the surrey that was conducted. <br /> Mr. Eliason feels very strongly that the ]NET is worth negotiating for the <br /> school and town <br /> Pageregarding 1 : re ardin rates/states that the social contract ll r $1.00 <br /> increase per year but only applies to lowest programming <br /> Page 19: regarding the discount to senior citizens. The committee feels <br /> strongly that these residents should receive a discount. Mr. Dellarg la is <br /> going to research Erhart other towns offer their senior citizens <br /> Page 25: Media One states that they will not incur the fees for the legal <br /> and secretarial process but In the first license they did <br />
