Jinn <br /> Chisholm motions to allocate $4,200 to the fir station with the stipulation that the <br /> proposal be emailed to the committee with its equipment list and final price. <br /> STATUS OF CO T TIUM: Andy Eliason opens a discussion on the status of the <br /> consortium. Joyce Masan states there is no communication at all. She says she will call <br /> Joe Ellen to get this going again. Andy Eliason states the consortium is doing nothing <br /> for Mashpee. The committee feels the consortium needs to communicate. Joe I ella ala <br /> requests the minutes of their meetings—Joyce Mason states there were no minutes kept. <br /> The goal of the consortium was get contracts negotiated and apparently after this was <br /> complete—nothing else was done. Lola McCray was to opt out of the consortium. <br /> Andy Eliason feels we should not maintain a relationship if it is not fruitful for u . <br /> Marjorie Katsoulls feels it should be kept at a national level. Jinn Chisholm mentions <br /> that individual licenses were given—different issues for different towns. Joyce Mason <br /> mentions that other communities benefited from lashpee being in the consortium. Jim <br /> Chisholm feels we should keep the consortium on an"as needed basis". Joe Dellagala <br /> notes that more voices are better than one. Mary O'Keeffe notes that Mashpee is the <br /> most organized group as far as maintaining meetings etc. Lola McCray wants to discuss <br /> the new rates with the consortium. She would like to got in touch with other <br /> communities, do some lobbying. Is there a group that would like to compete for better <br /> rates? Joyce Mason suggests invitations be seat out to hold an open forum. <br /> RATE INCREASE: Andy Eliason states how horrible the new Road Runner rate <br /> increase is. He feels the federal government is lax in regulating the cable industry. Bola <br /> McC ray reads an article from the Cape Cod Times, May 5, 2001 regarding the cable <br /> company and how they have free reign. She feels we need large numbers to hear our <br /> complaints and that the present process is not working. Jinn Chisholm suggests an all <br /> cape meeting for the consortium. lair. Eliason suggests people use the 800 number to <br /> express they complaints. He feels we are not getting the word out. A discussion of a <br /> possible open meeting at Cape Cod Community College to discuss these concerns. All <br /> communities should be invited. Mr. Eliason suggests Joyce Mason assimilate a list of <br /> Cape communities for a possible letter. Jinn Chisholm volunteers to draft a letter and <br /> feels we should head in a positive direction rather than criticize. <br /> AGENDA: Andy Eliason reviews his original agenda. He mentions his Merest in <br /> establishing a recorder telephone lime to set up a voice mail to address the community's <br /> concerns individually. perhaps at the next meeting a discussion can be held on how to <br /> get this done. Mr. Eliason asks Joyce Mason to research this at the Town Hall. He <br /> suggests a get together with Steve Buss on how to set up the email and telephone. Mr. <br /> liason asks for any other business—past or otherwise. <br />
