2) Development of a Web-Based GIS, using a product called "Vector Eyes" which has been
developed by a company called Full Circle Technologies.
3) Development of a Web-Based GIS, by a GIS consulting firm, CDM. This company has
developed a number of web-based geographic information systems; including the Town
of Falmouth. Like AGI their system is also based on ArcIMS technology.
To follow will be an assessment of each of these options, with a recommendation of which
would be the most cost-effective and most beneficial for servicing the Town with its web-based
GIS needs for both the Town Departments (via Intranet) and the general public (via the Internet).
I. "The
main goal of the application will be to provide robust access to the Assessor's CAMA database
and easy access to the GIS parcel data layer as well as other GIS information including
planimetric layers and the orthophotography." A second meeting was held with David
DelVecchio on May 25, 2004 in order to give him the chance to become familiar with this
product and AGI (who, as it was noted earlier has been the Town's GIS Consultant since 1998).
Samples of AGI's Web-based products developed for other Massachusetts communities:
Bedford: www.town.bedford.ma.us ---> "Bedford GIS Property Finder" link (under "services")
Dedham: www.town.dedhani.ma.us --> "DPW" link---> "On-line GIS Viewer" button
Newton: www.ci.newton.ma.us --->."Assessor's Database" link(under "residents of Newton")
Weymouth: www.wevmouth.ma.us ---> "On-line property viewer" link(under "web-site
features")
Groton: www.townofaroton.ore ---> "GIS/Assessor's Map" link(along left side of page)
Raynham: www.town.ravnham.ma.us ---> "New Town Mapping" link (under main picture on
front page)
Scope of Services: AGI proposes to develop an ArcIMS based web site that will include:
Basic Property Viewer Tab, which will have features including:
to.
