A GIS `department'.page in the Town Departments section of the website <br /> with links to an FAQ page, series of Pre-made ma and of course a link <br /> . p <br /> to-the GIS on--line. <br /> 'b. A GIS page that explains the technology with text and gra hies. <br /> -Represents issues .i i is a that have peen i t i � hs. <br /> � . <br /> UTURIE SITUATION <br /> As this technology rapidly becomes familiar to. both town employees and the general <br /> pillie (asevidenced interest in the �I� Committee among to employees,and <br /> the great publicity generated by the Ilashpee Enterprise and the 1liashpee Cable <br /> Channel), the demands on this system will increase exponentially. Up to now the system <br /> - his been maffitained for the purpose of supporting plaxuiing efforts and the creation of the <br /> Assessor's annual tax.maps. With the increased use the ton will see: <br /> • A demand for better, more organized distribution of the data and software <br /> • <br /> More cpabilities with regard to supporting field-operations <br /> • Use by Multiple departments as a tool for long,term planning <br /> Infrastructure management and planning <br /> • Public kiosks for ease access to the system at public access p9ints in town, i.e. <br /> ton hall, the library and the senior center. <br /> • And more... <br /> NEEDS <br /> A plan for developing the. system. infrastructure for supporting this type of GIS <br /> environment 'is in the process of being developed. A couple of items have been quoted- <br /> and are reach for implementation.
