Ann responded that School has a <br /> lot of different components the budget and it is a matter of priorities. <br /> o MCAT pointed out that if this request is funded, it should be considered a one-time deal because funds may <br /> not a available nextyear. <br /> o Arthur ex lammed that the switcher they are requesting would allow switching from camera to camera. He <br /> i said the mixer would be in the studio. <br /> MCAT Board asked: Since it's portable, would other groups at Town Hall be able to use it if needed'.Ann <br /> Bradshaw said they would;however, schools would have priority. <br /> The Board made suggestion that Arthur become knowledgeable about other resources, such as Comcast <br /> Studio, Town Hall Control Room,etc,that are available. <br /> o Board asked if School would help search for students to come work in paying p sitions at Town Hall <br /> Studio. Ann said they would but that they have a linmited number of students involved and these students <br /> are very busy covering school events. However, she said with upgrading their studio they may get more <br /> students interested. <br /> o Andrew said B.ifl Shea reviewed this equipment at the request of Joyce Mason and he is behind it 100%. <br /> Andrew Eliason suggested school look into the 500 Comcast made available for educational technology <br /> funding.. Aon will check with Accounting. <br /> Motion: James Chisholm motioned that,MCAT Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen that we take <br /> $36,431..04 out of the PEG Account for the proposal for the Broadcast Pix switcher presented today by the <br /> School Department; Lolita McCray seconded this motion. <br /> Dis <br /> cu si u: James Moroney led a lengthy discussion asWng why this can't come out of school budget,since <br /> their budget is % of all town budget and yet they are coag asIdng us for more; Lofita added that MCAT <br /> has funded thousands of dollars to the school m the past. <br /> Vote: Andrew Eliason,James Chisholm,and Lolita McCray voted in favor of the motion, <br /> James Moroney voted No. <br /> ■ <br /> Information Technolo --Iyclpartm nt <br /> Bruce Stello addressed the Board since David DelVecehio is on vacation this week. Brace gave each member r of <br /> the Board a copy of an e-mail to Andrew Ehason from David that contained 3 requests for funding as follows: <br /> 1. $1450200...$l LOOO for a high-end server to run"Tyler Content Management ment(TCM) and $3,200 for 25 SQL <br /> Server Licenses. <br /> 2. 000 for Domain Controller IMC Server for the Police Department. <br /> . $ moo bo purchase web based software from IMAS L. .C., a company that.provides software specifically <br /> for Town and City Clerk'. This will simplify Town Clerk"s.office tasks that Ileal with vital records, such a <br /> birth/death marrmge. <br /> copy of the e-mail is attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Motion: James Chisholm motioned MCAT Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen that$14,200 he <br /> funded for a high end server to run TCM at a cost of$11,000 plus$3,200 for 25 SQL Server Licen est James <br /> Moroney seconded this motion; and it was unanimously approved. <br /> Motion: James Chishohn motioned that MCAT Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen that$7,000 be <br /> funded for]Domain Contro11er MC Server for the Police Depart ent,; Lolita McCray seconded this motion; <br /> and it was unanimously passed, <br /> Motion: James Chisholm motioned that MCAT Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen that$6,000 be <br /> funded for purchase of web based software from SAS L. .C.to deal with manag g vim records in Town <br /> Clerk's ffice� Lolita McCray seconded this motion; and it was unanimously approved. <br />
