In 2007 a new color imaging used by almost every Town department was <br /> purchased; Scanners used by every Town department were purchased. All of these were possible through MCAT <br /> funding. He said these are the kinds of projects that will benefit residents of Mashee for years to cone. As an <br /> example: Assessor"s Office saves over$10,000 per year because previously they had to outsource work that we <br /> can now do in-house. <br /> Peter Cohen asked Tom Mayo and David DelVecchio: where do you see your needs in the next years? Responses <br /> morel • <br /> Tom Ma <br /> Migrating website to be done internally. <br /> Centralize data and mapping capabilities. <br /> Server used now will have to be replaced and updated. <br /> GIS web services have new technology to be looked at. <br /> David Delecchio <br /> Maintain infrastructure that we have now. <br /> Add new locations. <br /> Deliver technology to vehicles in the field(Police,Fire,etc.) <br /> Security cameras. <br /> Disaster recovery and back-up of data. <br /> Phone systems old and getting expensive to maintain to be replaced. David would like to consider someone like <br /> Network 1P based phone system. <br /> Maxine Wolfet added comment here that she would like IP cameras in some areas around Town to prevent illegal F <br /> dumping. <br /> Joyce Mason addressed the Dearing. She said there are a few things very important to get into the record and are <br /> important to the cable licensing process moving forward. Joyce said some of the items are: <br /> 1. Institutional Network 'I-Net" under Section 3.2 and Exhibits 1,2, and 3 of the current contract. <br /> 2. Cable Service Area and Availability to all Residents: Section 4.1. <br /> 3. .educational Technology Funding: Section 5.8. <br /> . Comcast to continue operating Public Access Studio: Section 6.2.--Would like it to continue operating Dere <br /> in Town. <br /> . Comcast Public Access Personnel Support: Section 6.3. <br /> . Annual Funding for Educational and Governmental Access Programming: Section 6.4. <br /> . lumber of PEG Access Channels: Section 6.5. <br /> . PEG Access Equipment/Capital Funding: Section G.G. <br /> 9. Public Access Programming Management: Section 6.7 and Exhibit 6. <br /> 10. PEG Access Cablecasting: Section 6.9 and Exhibit 8. <br /> 11. Senior Discount: Section 8.5-would actually like to see it increased. <br /> 12. Vass-Through and itemization of Costs: Section 8.6. <br /> 1 . Quality of Cable Service Signals: General. <br /> Joyce explained these are key issues that are important to the Town of Ma tepee that we would like in our next <br /> licensing contract. J yce then stated that there are rumblings that Comeast is trying to trove away from the local <br /> studios. In the a.lternativif that is the direction we go in,but Joyce said she hopes it is not—then the belief is. <br /> Comcast should provide funding in order for the Town to provide for public access programming. Joyce <br /> recommended that the ° f Comcast's Gross annual.Revenues for annual PEG Access operational support be <br /> increased to %. Also,Joyce pointed out the need to upgrade the studio at Town Hall and also that school upgrades <br /> ate needed. <br />
