Andrew Eliason saidhe has one--comment-to..add-toJoyce'9-st te:rri hl fd that is there is a portable broadcasting <br /> §Ystem st-r 1 at th Comcast studio a d orae th th need d r ss is ttal�lisl�Arai inand rh es <br /> Comcast can provide the training so that the equipment will be used. <br /> Mary O'Keeffe, i lashpee's representative from Comcast, addressed the Hearing and offered the following <br /> comments: <br /> of December-200they've had 7,779 subscribers in liashpee. <br /> • The cable system is currently capable of 750 MHZ and they offer over 250 cable channels. <br /> • License in M shpee expires November 29, 2009. <br /> Customer Service Office is 1n Veer Crossing,I lashpee. <br /> 0 Comeast has 24--hour on-call technicians. <br /> 0 Call center recently opened in Plymouth to answer many of the calls from 1rlashpee and the Cape area. <br /> Also have call center ill New Bedford. Also other call centers in Chelmsford, Waltham,Medfor ,Allston, <br /> Berlin, CT,and Manchester,l H. <br /> 0 Comcast is headquartered in Philadelphia.. <br /> • .largest cable operator in the country; and largest operator in Massachusetts. <br /> • Regional offices in Taunton and Plymouth,MA; Division office in Manchester,NH. <br /> Mary O'Keeffe continued by stating that any contractual language within the franchise agreement, such as access <br /> operating-and capital expenses,are passed through to the subscribers. <br /> Ms. O'Keeffe said there are four criteria the Issuing Authority must review in renewing Corncast's licensing <br /> contract and she said that for the record she would briefly like to state Comeast compliance to these criteria: <br /> Comcast has substantially complied with the material terms of the existing franchise and with applicable <br /> law. <br /> 0 The quality of their service including signal qualities, response to consumer complaints, and billing <br /> practices have been reasonable in light of community reeds. <br /> Comcast has the legal,financial, and technical ability to provide the services and to continue their services <br /> in the Town of 1lshpee. <br /> 0 Comcast will meet the future cable-related c nununity needs and interests of the Town of Mashpee. <br /> CONCLUSION <br /> Since there was no further testimony,Mr. Eliason announced that today's Public Tearing is concluded. He said <br /> today's Hearing record will be open for fourteen 1 days in order to receive additional testimony. Interested <br /> parties are encouraged to submit various testimonies on any renewal-related issue discussed today or, indeed, <br /> regarding any cable-related issue. written testimony or comments may be submitted to the Board of Selectmen's <br /> Office by October 16, 2008. Those comments should be addressed to the Board of Selectmen's Office, Town Hall, <br /> 16 Great Neck Toad Forth,Mashpee,MA 02649.
