Mason
Subject: Request for MCAT Funds
Hi Andy,
While speaking with,Mr. James Chisholm just before your last MCAT meeting, a resident came to the office
asking if we could take her pictures for a passport application that she was applying for on that particular day.
Unfortunately-'I had to tell her that the camera was Broken and that SONY was no longer offening any maintenance or
repair for that particular camera; I sent her to CVS. It was suggested by .lire, and later on by yourself, that I submit a
request to the Mashpee Cable and Advanced Technology Advisory Board for money to purchase a new camera,
As a little history, we began offering passport picture services to the residents of Mashpee and to any
surrounding Town resident that asked in 2006. Between October 2006 and December 2008 (when the camera broke
this office received approximately$3,600 in revenue for passport pictures.
In searching the websites f have found that I am unable to purchase the package directly from SONY.
owver, Jeff'Saleck, a representative at PAKOR gave me a price of$1,417. The price includes camera, wireless
printer, film, and freight. Of the four companies that I looked into, PAKOR appears to be the most reliable. One
company didn't even return my call.
This service was always well-received by the residents of l ashpee and those from surrounding towns and I
would like to offer this service again to passport applicants. 1 would love an opportunity to come to your next meeting
• and answer any questions that you and your committee may have for me.
Debbie
I
i
I
I
9/15/2009
