Mr. Storrs then broached the subject of preparing to meet <br /> deadlines for May Town Meeting. He mentioned the suggestion made <br /> by the Town Planner to present said amendments for approval at <br /> the October Town Meeting. He agreed there is a majority of said <br /> amendments that could be delayed until the October Meeting but <br /> that there are certain minor amendments, dealing with the process <br /> (Special Permit) they would like to accomplish at May Town <br /> Meeting. He hopes to be able to present more concrete <br /> information in this regard at the next scheduled meeting. <br /> Mr. Chace interjected it would be in the Town' s and their <br /> -best interest to accomplish the relatively minor changes to the <br /> Commercial Center Bylaw in May which would provide for the <br /> generation of commercial development. <br /> . Storrs Stade reference to the lengthy permitting process <br /> which would enable some of the concerns to be addressed in <br /> October; whereas there are certain concerns that would greatly <br /> benefit the inception of the permitting process in May. <br /> Impact studies-measurement Differential. <br /> Wastewater - Traffic - Fiscal <br /> Mr. Storrs noted that addressing some of the Cormnitte <br /> concerns has brought about a charge of scope. <br /> Mr. Storrs projected between eighty-five, eighty-seven <br /> (85, 000 - 87, 000) thousand square feet of office; one hundred <br /> forty (140, 000) thousand square feet of retail; and thirty-five <br /> , thousand square feet of restaurant, existing onin in <br /> Job' s Fishing Road. Under the proposal,,- the numbers drop to <br /> approximately thirty-five (35, 000) thousand square feet of <br /> commercial, ninety thousand (90, 000) square feet of office space, <br /> and thirty seven thousand five hundred (37, 500) square feet of <br /> retail . The proposal produces fewer Cars and fewer trips per day <br /> than under existing zoning; the traffic impact would be loss than <br /> under~ existing zoning. There would, however, be increased <br /> residential, thereby more waste water would be generated. <br /> Mr. Storrs made reference to the Sewer Commission proposal <br /> of combining several individual waste water treatment plants into <br /> one Town owned sewer District . It has become apparent through <br /> various studies that the ideal way to deal with waste water is to <br /> collect and treat it on site, and dispose of it off site. He <br /> suggested the location be such that it would not impact Mashpee <br /> River, santuit River, oc way Bay, or Zone II Wells. He suggested <br /> an area that could utilize Poppones et Bay or Nantucket sound. <br /> (There was some discussion regarding irrigation and leaching pit <br /> systems. ) He suggested re--energizing the Sewer Connission <br /> process as it would relate to the long range issue of dealing <br /> with waste water. <br /> The Chairman recognized Mr. Baker, who suggested emphasis be <br /> -3- <br />
