-SUGGESTED TIMETABLE FOR THE FORMAL <br /> CABLE TELEVISION RENEWAL PROCESS <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> (IV) February 1999 <br /> + MediaOne submits detailed renewal proposal to the Town no <br /> later than February 1, 1999; and <br /> + Town reviews MediaOne proposal, and plans for negotiations. <br /> (V) February-May 1999 <br /> + Town schedules a number of negotiating sessions with MediaOne <br /> to attempt to arrive at a tentative agreement on renewal; <br /> + Federal law requires that the Board of Selectmen must either <br /> renew the license or "issue a preliminary assessment that <br /> the license should not be renewed, " within four (4) months <br /> of receiving Mediaone's proposal, which will be June 1, <br /> 1999 . Note that the parties can mutually agree to extend <br /> this period; and <br /> + Town starts drafting proposed renewal license; or <br /> + Town commences administrative proceeding to review <br /> preliminary assessment of denial. <br /> (VI) June-October 1999 <br /> + Town drafts Renewal License and distributes it for review by <br /> Town and MediaOne; <br /> + Town meets with MediaOne to negotiate Renewal License terms <br /> and provisions; and <br /> + Renewal License signed by Board of Selectmen and MediaOne. <br /> MASHSCH <br />
