MASHPEE CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES July 9, 1998 <br /> PRESENT: Andrew Eliason, chairperson, Ed Deusser, Leer Schwartz <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Mary O'Keefe, George I ezniak, I lashpee resident was <br /> present to comment on the letter he sent to the committee <br /> (see attached and comments below). <br /> CALL TO ORDER:: The meeting was called to order in the Selectmen's meeting <br /> room at Torn Hall at 7:37 p.m. <br /> MINUTES: Mr. Deusser made a motion to accept the public hearing minutes. <br /> Mr. Schwartz seconded. Mir. Schwartz made a motion to accept the minutes of <br /> April 16,1998; Mir. Deusser seconded. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE. <br /> Copy of a request by Jim Chisholm to serve on committee (see attached) <br /> Mr. Schwartz made a motion to recommend Mr. Chisholm's appointment to <br /> selectmen. Mr. Deusser seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Letter from Mr. George Wezniak concerning. rates. He has also sent a <br /> letter to Media One and has not received a response. He granted to know <br /> by he is paying for boxes and remotes. He also stated that Centerville <br /> rates are less for the same channels. He is agitated that he has received <br /> no response from Media One. Mrs. 'Keefe explained that there is one <br /> rate for the bones and remotes. She also stated that the standard service <br /> cable ready is up to 33 channels and a box is not required for this service. <br /> The extra channels require a bo . She distributed and explained the rates <br /> and stated that Standard 1 and Standard 2 rates will remain the same. Mr. <br /> Elison expressed concern that the grouping does not rale sense. Mrs. <br /> O'Keefe Mated that the state regulates the basic rags and the FCC <br /> regulates the standard rags. Mr. Deusser stated that the rates increase <br /> in January and inquired at to whether the rates will still increase in January <br /> since there has been a rate increase recently. <br /> Letter from Louis Bevilac ua stating that he feels cable boxes are obsolete <br /> (see attached). <br /> Letter from Alice Fauppius requesting the addition of the History and the <br /> Sci Fi channels. <br />
