Mr. Storrs was specific in stating that both Popponesset Bay <br /> or Nantucket Sound can assimilate that level of nitrogen. Mr. <br /> Storrs further stated the Consultant for the Town, as well as <br /> Mashpee Commons Ltd. Partnership Consultant agree on this fact . <br /> Mr. Storrs made reference to "Wastewater Summary, " <br /> explaining that all of the changes have been applied t <br /> wastewater, causing the numbers to go up. <br /> Mr. Storrs also referred t "Ground water Model{ Mashpee, <br /> M . « He noted well sites and disposal location. He noted <br /> locations between Popponesset Bay and Nantucket sound pointing <br /> out well locations. a explained that all Zone II well areas <br /> have been carved out. The most conservative -year Zone II <br /> has been carved out. He indicated the remaining land located <br /> along Popponesset Bay north of Zone II and the land south of Zone <br /> II along Nantucket Sound. <br /> Mr. Storrs indicated possible locations for treating and <br /> disposing of wastewater. He stated he should have preliminary <br /> cost figures prepared for the next Meeting. He suggested the <br /> Sewer Commission consider construction of a treatment plant <br /> located on Great Neck Road South that could accommodate other <br /> users in the area, which wastewater could be treated and disposed <br /> of along with the Mashpee Commons, Ti indchime Point, and Talani.an - <br /> projects . <br /> Mr. Baer asked if whether or not Mashpee water District <br /> Well No. I has been considered as a possible location for <br /> disposing effluent. <br /> The Town Planner clarified the proposal is to be considered <br /> a vague concept at present, that no particular sites have been <br /> decided upon, and certainly not on a well . He further stated the <br /> Well Mr. Baer referred to is within the recharge zone of the <br /> Rock Landing wells . <br /> Selectman Marsters stated the Sewer Commission and the <br /> Consultant would advise the location of waste water disposal . <br /> Mr. Baer expressed concern that the water District might <br /> abandon said Well Site. <br /> Selectman Nancy Caffyn expressed concern that the area <br /> indicated on Mr. Storrs , map is where she lures in Popponesset. <br /> She mentioned the lots in the area are small, and there are a lot <br /> of septic tank problems. she also mentioned there a quite a few <br /> wells located in that area. <br /> Mr. whritenour clarified the areas identified (circled) on <br /> Mr. Storrs , map to be recharge areas, which are areas to be <br /> avoided. <br /> - - <br />
