At this point of the Meeting, M `. Storrs continued his
presentation of the Mashpee Commons Selectmen' s subcommittee
Report.
wastewater Summary Table
Mr. Storrs referred to the section for wastewater disposal,
the first graph, indicating the Title v generation gallons per
day, and the difference between existing and proposed. Job' s
Fishing Road would produce a little bit more; Whitings Road would
produce more as a result of the difference between twenty-five
28 and eighty 80 units; up to fifty acres are to be set
aside on Great Neck Road South, which would result in a decrease
because fifty 50 fewer houses would be built . There would be a
ten thousand (10, 000) gallon per day difference between the two.
r. Storrs thea referred to page -2- Mashpee Commons
Wastewater Treatment Plant Nitrate Levels - Mashpee Commons
Wastewater Treatment Plant Average Discharge. The current permit
is for eighty (80, 0 00) thousand gallons per day. Upon notation
made by Mr. Fudala that total build-out has not yet been
realized, Mr. Storrs stated there is between fifteen (15%) and
20 percent difference between actual and Title V.
Mr. Storrs stated the front page depicts a graphic
representing ten 1 milligrams per liter of nitrate, which is
what the groundwater discharge permit requires . Certain changes
have been instituted resulting in an average of between two
and three milligrams per liter. An average house with an
on-site septic system produces approximately thirty-five 5
milligrams per liter. Also included is a section indicating a
neighborhood by neighborhood breakdown of wastewater.
Mr. F'udala asked about existing zoning in terns of what is
generated per square footage. Mr. Storrs referred to Table -
Wastewater Gallons per day Job' s Fishing Road, he explained that
for reasons of existing zoning the same amount of square footage
of current 1 ashpee Coons restaurants were carried forward,
twenty (20 percent coverage by zoning it was assumed that half
of the buildings would be two-story) , generated the existing
zoning numbers .
Mr. Storrs referred to the Tischler Section - Fiscal Impact
Study. He reminded the Committee that all of the Department
Heads have been interviewed in an attempt to arrive at a certain
level of service a particular~ department is currently providing,
and the cost of providing that senesce, Tischler Service Leve.
Cost & Revenue Assumptions. This information will be applied to
the build-out analysis which will determine fiscal impacts .
Selectman Marsters recognized Paul Lubsden, who asked Mr.
Storrs to repeat information regarding wastewater discharge and
nitrate level fluctuations for the months of July, August,
!1 -
