meeting will also be available at the Selectmen' s office to any <br /> interested member of the public. <br /> The Town Planner noted the proposed Mashpee Commons project <br /> permitting process could take as long a one-year to complete RIEPA <br /> and Cape Cod Commission review; at which point it will become <br /> necessary to revert to the Town for various permitting/agreements <br /> aria the Planning Board and Selectmen. <br /> The Moderator recognized Mr. whritenour who made the <br /> following closing comments . with reference to the proposed <br /> zoning changes for the October 5th Town of Mashpee, Town Meeting, <br /> he stated this meeting to be the second public hearing held in an <br /> attempt to provide further information regarding the zoning <br /> changes. The prior public hearing having been conducted on <br /> September 17th, at which time the technical environmental review <br /> process had been addressed. <br /> On behalf of the Mashpee Commons Advisory Committee, Mr. <br /> whritenour stated that the Town has been working for the past <br /> two years in an attempt to offer the most advantageous proposal <br /> as possible. He further stated that if the Town favors the <br /> neo-traditional village atmosphere for the growth center area, <br /> the zoning changes being proposed would act to protect the Town <br /> in its future developmental patterns . He clarified the proposed <br /> zoning changes would not result in increased density, but rather <br /> to allow mixed-use. An approval of the proposed zoning changes <br /> would prove to allow an individual/independent signature style of <br /> development for the Town of Mashpee unlike that of any of the <br /> surrounding communities on Cape Cod, <br /> Mr. whritenour encouraged members of the public to attend <br /> Town Meeting in order to express their views and opinions in this <br /> regard in order to generate maximum participation and discussion. <br /> There being no further ue t i ons comment s, the Moderator~ <br /> declared the Public Meeting in this matter to be closed.
