An abutter Christopher wixtrom of 532 Main Street challenged whether the existing special
permit for outside storage is valid since it was not recorded in time. The permit was issued in
1997 with the stipulation that it would expire if it was not used within two years. It was
recorded in 2004. He claims the fonner tenant had storage outside and therefore was in
violation. He also noted that the zoning changed, The Fire Chief suggested a review of the
zoning and talk with the Board of Appeals and do some research. Applicant only submitted
plans for the section of the building to be renovated. They need to provide a new blueprint of the
entire foot print including the storage area in which they intend to store lumber. They need to
schedule a mecting with the Deputy Fire Chief to review storage amounts and det rrm*ne if they
need fire sprinldrs. Building Inspector will contact the`gown Attorney regarding the issue of
outside storage under the 1997 Special Permit to determine validity of same. Applicant needs to
submit a revised site plan showing parking, outside storage, etc. The existing driveway does not
comply with the current distance requirements for separation of a driveway from an intersection.
The applicant should consider moving the driveway farther away from Rte. 130. Perhaps they
might consider moving the entrance more onto Echo Road. They have considered Widening the
entrance to lo'. They could do one-way traffic and add another opening. They will review their
options. They plan to create a parking lot. Elevation plans as shown along with landscaping
plan will be a welcome change to the building and corner. Applicant is advised to provide a
more complete concept and return to Ilan Review when issues have been resolved.
Discussion- Digital submission requirements
Worn Mayo
Rene Read
The discussion focused on the idea of instituting a new digital submission requirement for all
graphic oriented submissions to the Town, i.e. plot plans, septic as#builts, sewage treatment
plans, architectural plans, wetlands delineation plans and others. It is suggested that the
requirement be written to include many possible submission formats, though only a scanned
image would be required. The cost for scanning would be the same for every department, would
vary by the size of the plan, and the suggested$2.00 cost is an estimate only for discussion. The
`own is not currently out of compliance with the public records law. This requirement would be
a first step towards making it easier for the public to access the Town's plans. The proposal is to
require digital submissions of all plans going forward. Scanning pri
