The Committee welcomed Catherine and
indicated it would he beneficial to have her at all future meetings.
Ken l larsters distributed a copy of Joyce Mason's October 19, 2005 memo to all department
heads concerning FY 2007 Capital Improvement Program Requests. This memo and
attachments were reviewed and discussed, including the Capital Improvement Prograin Schedule
completion dates for each step of the program. A copy of the October 19 memo is attached to
the printed set of these minutes.
Iden advised that he asked Joyce Mason to supply copies of requests as they come in to this
Committee so they can be reviewed and Ken also suggested to the Committee that perhaps the
Committee can attend at least one of the c-i-p meetings so the Committee can be informed of the
thought process involved in reviewing the c-i-p requests. It was understood that the Committee
mnll probably have to go through this process and then determine where the group, as a
Committee, stand.
Catherine added a comment that she sees this Committee putting forward their own c-i-p request
covering bull(fing maintenance requirements because none of the department heads really seem
to do that. As examples, Catherine cited: replacing or repairing building roofs; shingles; air
conditioning; septic (cess pools)systems; generators; and gp g re-paving parking lots. Catherine
p
provided a copy a partial list that she put together just to give the Committee a sone idea o
building maintenance items they might wish to consider to recommend in need of a c-i-p request.
