Sheldon Gilbert introduced himself'as a new member of the committee, and was relcomed-by Chairman Gare Srnarg on. REVIEW of MINUTES The committee unanimously approved as corrected the minutes from the meeting of 8101106. OLD BUSINESS #11. Review of Draft Request for Technical/Price Proposals: construction Project Manager consulting services for south Mashpee Fire � � p Substation Project Committee members had reviewed the draft prior to the meeting, and offered the following comments and suggestions for change. Global Comment Irving Goldberg noted that the travel expenses for those bidding onthe project are left open. Iry suggested that the anticipated travel of � bidders should be included in their quote. Page 1114.- Pa rag raph 114*Paragraph 'I, last sentence, the wisdom of inclusion of the Project Manager PM)$1753 000 tee and the accuracy of the number, were questioned. It was recommended that it be left out. Paragraph 2, first sentence, reference is made to specifications. It was questioned I� � stoned whether the specifications are in a separate document, or whether this draft is considered to include the specifications. Paragraph 2, last sentence, all Enquiries relative to the fire substation project should be directed to the Town Manager in writing, not to Fire Chief George Baker.- Page 21'1 The last paragraph, last sentence states that the" Project Manager shall be a person who i registered by the commonwealth as ars architect or professional engineer and who has at least years experience in construction and supervision of construction ...... . Yet on page 8114, last paragraph, it states the"PM shall have a minimum of 16 gears of construction ..." Catherine Laurent explained that the 5 years of experience refers to a statute minimum requirement. If the PM is not a registered architect or professional engineer, then a minimum of 7 gears of experience is required. Catherine suggested than perhaps the Town is requiring more years than the statute minimum requirement. Page 3114: Under#2-consultation during Project Development, in the fast sentence end the sentence ce after the words"provide a cost estimate". Delete the words owith comments on value engineering opportunities and constructabilit r problems"from the sentence, as these do not fall under the scope of,the Project Managers responsibilities.
