Masbpee Planning and Construction Committee Wnutes of Meeting Held Tuesday,March 6,2007 Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room Committee Members present: Eugene Smargon, Irving Goldberg, Janice h ills, Steve Cook, Sheldon Gilbert,,Devin Shaekett, and Joe Braft(arrived 7:05 p.m.). Absent: Tricia Parolski (Ex Officio Member). Also 'resent: Catherine Laurent*DPW Joyce Mason,Town Manager(arrived 7:45 p.m. Invited Participant: Richard Pomroy,Pomroy associates Audience: Chief Baker–Fire Department Gene Smargon,Chairman, called the to order at 7 p.m. An oval of Minutes Janice Mills motioned to accept the minutes of the Special Meeting of February 20, 2007 as presented; Irving Goldberg seconded this motion; and the motion was approved by those Committee members present(Joe Brait had not yet arrived). Fire Substation Building Project Chairman Gene Smargon introduced Richard Pomroy,the Project Manager for the Fire Substation building project. Rick l ornroy addressed the Committee giving them some rough idea on what's going to happen; goal setting; and his role as Project Manager. He said the first goal is to keep moving forward; he likes to be pro-active and address issues as they come up— don't table anything. He said the most,important as'p6ct is to make decisions. He added that they've had great success with their projects. Other points made.by Rick Pomeroy included the following: • Request for Qualifications advertisement for an architect will be dome March 19d'with proposals due by April 13 deadline. Draft must be finalized and submitted by next Tuesday to make the March ISP deadline airing. Joyce informed Rick that the decision was made to go with the shorter version contract to be attached to the RFQ. Rick will review this contract form by tomorrow and then forward everything to Joyce, Rene, and Catherine. April 27,2007–hopefully architect selected and under contract. July 31, 2007–hopefully all pork complete and construction documents out for public bidding. Over next couple of weeks,Rick Pommy said he'd be sending information to the Committee. Communication protocol...Rick said it is extremely important all communication goes to this Committee before going anyyvhere else. He said he doesn't wart to spread any information before the Chairman is informed.
