However, Committee pointed out that it is <br /> important all members of the Committee review all applications received. <br /> Rick said that once goals /objectives of the building have been identified, it does not get <br /> changed without this Committee's approval. <br /> Question: How do you differentiate between need and desire since project is budget <br /> driven? Rick I omroy said it is his and the architect's responsibility to make sure <br /> building is affordable. Rick said we can meet with them once architect has been naarned. <br /> Chief Baker...Chief Baker addressed the Committee and said that anytime they can involve the <br /> firefighter members in the process, he thinks it would be helpful. Gene,Smargon said the <br /> Committee is looking to Chief Baker to keep the firefighters informed. In addition,Rick Pomroy <br /> pointed out that once the architect comes on board then they would go over the Fire Substation <br /> requirements with the Chief and the firefighters. He said the programming should be with the <br /> firefighters as the end user; and the Committee oversees the program. <br /> Substation Site...Iry Goldberg reminded Catherine and the Committee that once the site location <br /> decided,then the abutters to be informed. Catherine said the parcel was selected,but not the site <br /> location. Rick Ionroy added that after the architect is selected and their civil engineer is on <br /> hoard they would give site location and thea Committee could inform abutters. <br /> Bud t <br /> Rick provided the Conunittee with a draft budget he put together and explained that as they <br /> progress with the project he will be providing updated budget spreadsheets to the Committee. <br /> He suggested that we set goal as to what the budget plan is before architect comes on board. He <br /> said that by the time we're clone with design, figures will be set for the project. <br /> Joyce informed Rick that for the Treasurer's Office she needs a sense ofthe cash#lover so they <br /> know what amount to borrow. Dick will e-mail this information to Joyce, bene, and to <br /> Catherine. <br /> The Chairman and Committee thanked Rick 1 omroy for attending the meeting. He exited the <br /> meeting. <br /> Old Business <br /> i .r illi Project,..Gene asked.once for update. Joyce reported that the Board o <br /> Selectmen approved the 2 options as recommended by Planning and Construction Committee <br /> with the stipulation that if eve.do not hear about the grant by September I we go forward with the <br /> smaller building. Joyce also said that if debt exclusion passes thea we can go forward with <br /> project manager RFP. <br /> Capital budt...Iry asked what's going on with the capital budget? Joyce said they are still <br /> looping at getting needs assessment facilities study, <br />
