Mash eelanmm�g and.Construction Co ttee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Meld Monday,February 11,2008 <br /> Mashpee Town HaH Meeting Room 1 <br /> Committee Members Present: Steve Cook, ming Goldberg, Joe Krait, and Kevin Shackctt. <br /> Absent: Sheldon Gilbert, Eugene Srnargon,Janice Mills, and Tricia Parolski x Officlo Member). <br /> Also Present: Catherine Laurent, DPW <br /> Joyce Mason, Town Manager <br /> Audience: Fancy Soderberg—Back-Up Liaison,Library Trustees <br /> h rrn n Stere Cook called the meet g to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> ApIlroval of Minutes <br /> Joe Krait motioned to accept the mutes of the Meeting of January 10, 2008;hv Goldberg seconded the <br /> motion; and the notion was unanimously passed. <br /> .,Library Proms <br /> Chairman Steve Cook gave an update of the subcommittee a tiff on the hbrary project. Highlights of <br /> i the update included the following: <br /> Architect Stewart Roberts is working on the design and is moving forward with plans. Updated ; <br /> plans to be ready and submitted to subcommittee at their next meeting. <br /> 0 Adjustments made on the plans for the divider for the meeting room, <br /> 0 Group met with Patience Jackson of the Mate Board of Library on ssioners at Pembroke <br /> Library and she suggested some excellent changes on the plan. A copy of Rick Pommy notes of <br /> this January o meeting is attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> • Catherine Laurent noted that in reviewing the updated plans,they wfll also get into costs of <br /> materials for the building project. <br /> 0 Mashpee Commons-has a set-hack variance to build within 40 feet of Job's Fishing Road and 15.1 <br /> so we have to go to ZBA to secure variance to align with the 40 foot variance. <br /> • Parking was discussed and we"11 be working on some ideas. <br /> Mechanicalfelectrical engineers are going to come back to us with different heating cooling <br /> systems for the building and they'll give costs for the different systems as well as what the <br /> payback would be for some of the"green"energy systern . <br /> Result of meeting with Barbara Notarius, president of the Friends,resulted in Friends cotting <br /> to give$75,000 to get some type of-"green"energy system within the-building. hen question <br /> vias asked about costs for"green"syst n, Steve responded that in rough calculations$150,000 <br /> `green"energy would get$60,000 rebate. Catherine pointed out that with rebates we would first <br /> have to pay the-money up front and the rebate comes back later. <br /> interims location for current library Catherine said it is hoped the RFP will go out next week at <br /> the latest. <br /> Landscaping...Iry said that apparently there is Hope Mashpee Cocoons is willing to contribute <br /> to landscaping cost. <br /> ,4 <br />
