Libra ro'ect continued <br /> Building. (new Post Office building project next to library site)to start construction next <br /> Spring. Sidewalk in front of both library and post office sites will run 10 feet that is, 5 feet on <br /> Town's property; arta 5 feet on Mashp a Commons"properly. <br /> • Some of the issues to be worked out with lishpee Commons: sidewalk; swale, parking lots, <br /> easements. Steve noted that Joyce Mason and Town Counsel will be involved with easement <br /> issues, etc. <br /> 0 Steeple Street is going to be widened and utilities will come from Steeple Street. plan is to-do <br /> some of that work at same tine...issue is how do you divide the project? Some agreement to be <br /> made regarding Steeple Street construction. <br /> • Site plan was done on the project; Stewart Roberts renegotiating with civil engineers since they <br /> cane in too high. <br /> Shed at current library...Steve wiU contact Barbara Notarius. Catherine said she spoke with <br /> Joyce about temporary location and here is no objection to temporarily place here at Town Mall, <br /> but a permanent location would have to be found. Catherine said that in the revised plan Stewart <br /> is providing Friends with shelf storage space in the new library. <br /> Audience Comment: Nancy Soderberg addressed the commi tee saying the purpose of the shed was to <br /> store donated books.as they cone in. 'This storage space is needed until book sale is held and it's nice t <br /> have the location next to the library. Joyce Boson commented.that the Board felt that the shed should go <br /> away since there should b plenty of room within the building to store the books. <br /> Nancy Soderberg asked when the next subcommittee meeting would be held. Steve Cools responded it <br /> will be held next week and Helene DeFoe attends and can provide Library Trustee input. Joyce Mason <br /> addressed the ComYnittee and strongly suggested the full Planning and Construction on ittee be given <br /> the presentations from the architect, engineers,'etc. in view of budget ramifications involved. <br /> Nancy Soderberg then asked about re-use of storm water. Iry Goldberg responded dig re-use for' <br /> irrigation might be possible but to re-use within the building is very costly. He said it is expected to have <br /> very little mni.ntenance for the landscaping. <br /> Fire Substation# <br /> Update on this project: <br /> Building permits issued;March 1st is start date. <br /> Site cleaned and graded so it looks good. <br /> Vehicle-exhaust recovery system that is one of the additions to the project and is for the garage <br /> area will probably be put on bold until they-can firm up the numbers. <br /> Landscaping...they will be coming to the subcommittee with a suggested plan. <br /> RFQ for Clerk of the works ... deadline is February 15. <br /> Catherine'adsed she asked engineers to correct some of their assumptions regarding the water <br /> main extension. Catherine said they carne up with$170,000. She expects to receive final draft. <br /> this week before going out to bid. <br /> Discussion <br /> Steve Cook informed the Committee that Nicole Goodman of Green Design Center in Mashpee <br /> _ 4 <br /> Commons gage a packet of informational material to review for using renewable materials in the <br /> interior of both the library and ire substation buildings. <br /> Joe gait had a question about the middle school. Joyce Masan said they are not creating another <br /> building;it will be a change with the high school building. <br /> Chamber of Cornrnerce building: Can we get a more efficient heating system in there? Cathie said <br /> KeySpan has a rebate program and she will look into it. <br />
