Solar Panels..(continued)
• 14.4k system would cost approximately$108,,000 and with the State rebate that would
bring the final cost to $50,400.
19.2k system would cost about$174,,000 and with the Mate rebate it would bring the final
cost to about $671,000.
Iry expressed concern that VAth the expanded system we are getting close to going over
Haat"key number"to get the rebate money back. Wherefore,Iry recommended going with
the original proposal of 14.4k and make sure we have enough money to do things we
have to do. Sheldon Gilbert commented that he thinks we should have the full system if
it does not interfere with the rebate.
Maintenance of the solar panels is that they have to be cleaned once a-year.
Payback time is 4 years.
Motion: Irving Goldberg motioned that the C6mmitt a approve use of solar panels on the
build in -- .either 14.4k or 19.2k size—depending on full State rebate eligibility and budget;
Janice Mills seconded thisr ation; and it.vias unanimously approved.
Question from the Audience
Jane Dolan asked: Is the system ENERGY STAR Iry responded, "yes". a said he did ask

that.
Site and Floor Plans...Catherine Laurent showed the site 'and door plans and explained changes
that are being made. liv Goldberg said he has a basic problem of adjusting floor plan for
security purposes and that instead put in security cameras and maximize floor space. while all
agreed security cameras must be included, Tricia Parolski pointed out that one problem with
cameras is they do go down and she explained that line-of-sight in Children's section is best. The
Committee was in agreement and the consensus of the Committee was that security cam anies
should be approached to come in and make suggestions.
Continuing with the floor plan review, Catherine pointed out that the large meeting room was
kept at 100 seats and not divided, but another 18-seat conference room isp rovided as well.
Catherine said that Stewart Roberts is coming back to the next subcommittee meeting with the
revised dans. regarding the site, Steve and Catherine provided the following updates:
Stewart Roberts switched to another site engineer.
Drainage on-site...s gale currently on Fawn and Nlwhl ee Commons properties. All
drainage, will go into that Swale so we'll save money because we won't have to do storm
water system.
Will need setback variances for 40' setback.
. Rick Pomroy is working u -a general action log to make sure everything ggets picked up.
working with Mashpee Commons to coordinate project and Post Office Building project.
Committee still to look at rainwater r store system for irrigation.
Temporary location...2 p.m. on Friday they'll be looking at the proposals received.
Line item is in the budget for the move but concern is should we do ourselves and use the
money for construction.
Outside building materials—alternatives are being looped at so it will not be too costly.
S
