Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee Minutes of Meeting Held Wednesday,Jan'ua' 28,2009 °d Floor Conference Room Committee Members Present: Steve Cook,Irving Goldberg,Kevin Shackett,Eugene Smargon, and Sheldon Gilbert. Absent: ,Tan ice lulls,Joe Krait, and Tricia Parolski x Officio Member). Also Present: Catherine Laurent,DPW Rick Pomroy,Pomroy Associates Joyce Mason, Town Manager Helene IeFoe, Library Director Nancy Soderberg—Back-up Liaison, Library Trustees(arrived 6:3 5 p.m. Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Approval of Minutes Sheldon Gilbert motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of January 5, 2009;Kevin Sha keit seconded the motion; and the motion was unanimously passed. Library Project Rick Pomroy provided a written update on the Library project and verbally commented on each item as presented—a copy of the written update is attached to the printed set,of these minutes. Some of Rick's commentary and discussion with the Committee included the following: L ...Rick stated that J. Stewart Roberts had submitted a"checks-and-balance" list and Rich is very Teased with the information provided by Stewart Roberts. Rick said it is a pro-acture system so we will know very quickly when we've met our goals for a particular design. Bud provided a proposed development budget for the Committee's review and approval. A copy of this budget is attached to the printed set of these minutes. He said the Subcommittee reviewed and voted to adept the proposed budget. Rick went through the proposed budget line-by-line and noted that design changes are incorporated. Rick proposed the Committee adopt this budget and that's what they would work with. Motion: Sheldon Gilbert motioned to accept the Development Budget Update as presented to the Planning and Construction Committee this evening,.January 28,2009; Irving Goldberg seconded this motion; and-it was accepted by a vote of -1. Vote . Yes t(Steve Cook,Irving Goldberg,Devin Sha keit,and Sheldon Gilbert). No —1 (Gene Smargon). Gene Smargon questioned whether or not it would be like the Fire Station project and is Stewart Roberts going to come in at the end and ask for more. Gene was reminded that this issue was addressed last month and any changes would be presented beforehand, not at the end. Rick advised that the electrical contractor and site contractor estimates were received for installation of the primary electrical service and Rick is to meet with Mashpee Commons and go over the numbers. Mashpee Commons is to pick up 5 0%of these costs; and Mash pee is to pick.up 5 o%.
