Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee Minutes ofMeeting Held Tuesday,February ,2009 Meeting Room 1 Committee Members Present: Steve Cook,Irving Goldberg,Kevin Shackett,Eugene Smargon, Sheldon Gilbert,Janice Mills, Joe Brait, and Tticia Par lski x Officio Member) Also Present: Catherine Laurent,DPW Rick Pornry,Pomroy Associates Joyce Mason,Town Manager Helene le 'oe,Library Director Nancy Soderberg—Back-up Liaison,Library Trustees Audience: Brian Ihrl—.Mashpee Enterprise Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Approval ofMinutes Irving Goldberg motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of January 28, 2009; Sheldon Gilbert seconded the motion;and the motion was passed,with Janice Mills,Joe Brait and Tricia Paarolski abstaining. UbMaTrqject Rick Pommy provided a written update on the.Library project and went through each item in detailed fashion. A copy of the written update is attached to the printed set of these minutes. Some of Rick" commentary and discussion with the Committee included the following: 0 Rick noted that because of winter weather they are going slower than usual, but are still on schedule. • Backfill started this week and hope to be complete the first week of March. Architect will do sample exterior color panel. A catalog of sample furniture designs for the new library was passed around to the Committee. When the time arrives to look at actual furniture to be considered,thea this Committee will be involved also'. 0 lick Pomroy to meet with Douglas Storrs on March 13'h and hopefully everything will be approved at that time. • L R ...Steve Cook mentioned that the LEER categories arc: certified,; silver;gold;and platinum. Rick Pomroy said if we achieve gold then we would achieve the third highest category. IMLPL CP...Rick advised that Patience Jackson 1s pleased with our progress. Budget...Rick said he will not give budget report on a monthly basis,but will be reporting contingency numbers. Rick advised that Helene LeFoe has been doing some research on.book security systems. They have a tentative meeting scheduled with 3M. He said they will need to install infrastructure beneath the slabs so he needs to get that work in before they pour the slabs. Proiect Chaucs Rick presented 2 Project Changes for approval by the Committee: Project Change fl...Electrical Primary--$23,588. Motion: Irving Goldberg motioned to accept Project Change##1 for$23,588; Sheldon filbert seconded this motion; and it was unanimously Passed.
