Catherine said
she doesn't think they will have any money left but will put request on list.
Gene Smargon asked about Library closing and losing accreditation. Catherine said the issue arose
because of Helene's retirement and that it is hoped with staff'and volunteers they will re-open on Fridays.
Iry Goldberg said he would recommend that it be high on the list to loop at why volunteers can't give out
library cards. Gene S argon added that he just wants to be sure we don't lose the grant money.
Iry said people are still asking about why they gave money and their name is not on the wall plaque.
Catherine advised that the Friends did gyre a cheep so that issue is resolved. Catherine said she has
names of plaques to be ordered.
New Business
Senior Student Greenhouse Proposal
Catherine met with High School Senior Dillon who would like to build a greenhouse at the High.School..
Catherine said her concern is whether this is really something that's going to be used. Concerns raised
during the PCC review included the following:
0 what are the criteria?
Who will take care of the greenhouse when he graduates?
0 ft's a gravel base so Dillon would be looping to DPW to provide stone. It would be a wooden
structure,corrugated roofing,no utilities—no water, no Meat,no ventilation.
• Joe Bralt said a greenhouse was given to Sheriffs Department that has gravel; corrugated
material and without ventilation. He said you get rain in and without ventilation everything is
rusting.
Consensus of PCC was this matter should be turned over to the School Committee.
Proposed Stora a Shed–South Cape Beach
y
Catherine said that Recreation currently has a metal box container that they use for storage and a place for
staff to get out of un rai.n. Catherine said Steve Coop did a design of a concrete shed;roll-up door; some
windows ... would provide a nicer shelter area for staff. They went to CIP for'funding for the shed. Iry
suggested PCC see drawing spec of what's being proposed. Catherine will bring drawing specs to next
PCC meeting. Catherine said if approved it's hoped there would be some assistance from Sheriff's
Department.
Steve Cook noted that flood elevation is so high the building would stand up,but if major hurricane hits
thea everything will be under water, including the shed.
Motion:,Joe Brest motioned to recommend the storage shed for South Cape Beach to GIP;Janice
Mills seconded the motion.
Roll Call Vote was taken and all voted `lyes",except Irving Goldberg, who voted "no's.
The motion was passed with a vote 5-"yes"; 1-"ono".
Next Meeting..,.,.Catherine will schedule a meeting when agenda item arises.
diournment...
