Town of Mashpee <br /> Recycling Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> December 7, 1999 <br /> The Town of Mashpee Recycling Committee Meeting was called <br /> to order in the Board of Health Office, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 <br /> Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, Massachusetts at : o p.m. on <br /> Tuesday, December 7, 1999 . The Chairman, Glen Santos, presided. <br /> Committee Members present: James Chisholm; Stephanie Jones; <br /> Veronica Mayer, Clerk; and Glen Santos, Chairman. <br /> Absent.- David. Leveil.le. <br /> Also present: John Michaels, Quashnet valley Condominiums. <br /> The Chairman declared a quorum to be present and called the <br /> Meeting to order. He then made it ]mown to all present that the <br /> meeting was being taped for transcription purposes only, AS the <br /> first order of business, he addressed the matter of Minutes. <br /> Approval. of Minutes <br /> The Chairman entertained a motion be made for approval of <br /> the November 21, 1999 Minutes . <br /> MOTION: Janes Chisholm made a motion to approve the Minutes <br /> of the November 2, 1999 Meeting as submitted; which Motion was <br /> duly seconded by Stephanie Jones and so voted unanimously. <br /> There was brief Committee discussion regarding appropriate <br /> means of communication with the Board of Health. It was agreed <br /> that veronica layer be considered liaison in this regard. She <br /> assumed the responsibility of forwarding notifications and memos � <br /> to the Board of Health when warranted. <br /> DEP Revised waste Control regulations <br /> Veronica Mayer stated that as of April 1, 2000 certain <br /> materials will be considered to be hazardous waste and will no <br /> longer be accepted in a general manner at the Town facility (i .e. <br /> CRTs, television sets, video games, and computer monitors) . <br /> James Chisholm asked if the ban would include residential <br /> waste, and if the haulers would be mandated to comply by the <br /> April 1st date. veronica Mayer answered "yes" they would. <br /> Veronica Mayer stated she continues to be interested in <br /> conducting a Monitor Collection Day and suggested perhaps this <br /> could be organized to take place sometime in March. Committee <br /> members expressed complete support and involvement in this <br /> regard.. The possibility of media coverage was discussed. <br />
