Drainage swails and pavement <br /> improvements have been suggested. <br /> There was discussion regarding monitor Day, which has been <br /> scheduled for April 1st in an attempt to promote public <br /> awareness. <br /> Janes Chisholm prioritized as follows: Monitor Day, <br /> compactors, recycling with trash haulers, mandate enforcement, <br /> initiating a recycling program, and dump permits/recycling. <br /> Veronica Mayer reported the Municipal recycling Incentive <br /> Program is no longer being pursued, until such time as the <br /> percentage of multi-unit dwellings participating in recycling has <br /> increased. <br /> Veronica Mayer also reported her displeasure with the <br /> proposal made by Paul Barry, USA waste General Manager, as she <br /> felt it was extremely generalized and Prague. <br /> Stephanie Jones raised issues regarding the hauling of <br /> cardboard and possible decreases of tonage. There was discussion <br /> about the possibility of renting roll offs from USA waste until <br /> such time as the compactors are on line in an attempt to lessen <br /> the amount of cardboardtonage anticipated in connection with the <br /> upcoming Christmas season. <br /> It was the consensus of the committee members to authorize <br /> Veronica Mayer~ to submit a memo to the Board of Health making <br /> such recommendations, as well as to notify the Mashpee Enterprise <br /> for advertisement purposes, requesting recycling of "clean, <br /> corrugated cardboard" . <br /> Suggestions were made regarding methods and opportunities <br /> for educating the general public regarding recycling: taking <br /> advantage of and. ,involving Mashpee High School Art/Design <br /> students in some type of brochure project. <br /> Committee Members agreed to review the Waste Management <br /> Report, provided for their information, on their own to be <br /> discussed at a latex meeting. <br /> -3- <br />
