P. <br /> Veronica Warden made reference to Basic Tier. Phase one, <br /> noting the only criteria that isn' t being met is Condominium <br /> Complexes. By way of suggestion she proposed prodding one 1 <br /> dumpster per complex, to be located in a central area. Upon <br /> investigation she found prices to be excessive. <br /> with regard to "Recycling in public spaces or transportation <br /> centers" . Veronica Warden reported she had contacted. Fields <br /> Point l ashpee commons, who agreed to the use of aesthetically <br /> pleasurable recycling containers, which Ms. Warden was able to <br /> provide for their approval. <br /> Ms. Warden informed the Committee of her desire to enroll in <br /> grant writing course. The motive would be to obtain a State <br /> grant which would provide for the placement of one container per <br /> complex said container and pick-up charges to be paid from the <br /> grant money) , for a five year period after which the Town will <br /> have incorporated a mandatory recycling program. She offered <br /> this idea to the Committee as a suggestion, stating she would <br /> welcome their input. <br /> David Leveille questioned whether or not the State would <br /> approve a grant for this purpose. <br /> References were then being made to the Newsletter-Grant <br /> Amounts-southeast District i. <br /> Veronica Warden reported the State is well aware of the <br /> dilemma small towns are facing and are willing to assist the <br /> small town in any way possible for their acceptance into <br /> the 1. . I . P. <br /> Committee Members were in support of Ms. Warden' s <br /> suggestion, encouraging her to proceed. <br /> There was some discussion as to the feasibility of allowing <br /> condominium complexes. to deposit materials for recycling at the <br /> mashpee transfer station. The permitting process, available <br /> facilities, and hauling costs were also mentioned. <br /> There was also some discussion regarding the lashpee Commons <br /> recycling program and whether it was intended for the merchants <br /> or public part icipation. Pick-up charges were also discussed, <br /> with 'veronica Warden stating Mashpee Commons will be asked t <br /> -2- <br />
