DeMoura Nick' Feldman, <br /> and Charles Liberty, <br /> NO Motion made by Dr. Petti, seconded by Mrs. Mills <br /> f <br /> 5. approval to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on <br /> of Minutes July 8 , 1992* <br /> s <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> I. David Lilienthal, Jr. of Cape' 'Codders Against <br /> '. ubl�.c s <br /> Racism AR) , returned to meet with the School <br /> Forum Committee to obtain approval of their request' to use the <br /> Middle school facilities for a two-day workshop/pow pip � cr <br /> on September 26 and 27 , 1992 . - . The convers%atlon that <br /> 3 <br /> ensued was as follows: <br /> ' Mr. Lilienthal was quoted as follows 'Let me sea <br /> P <br /> t briefly to put our application for the use -of facilities <br /> n context. I know that on your agenda you say <br /> x <br /> classrooms we also want the gymnasium to update your <br /> documents. " <br /> "For the past year or so here on the Cape, members of <br /> our organization and other groups have been working with <br /> a number of school districts with teachers and <br /> administrators in an effort to get into the curriculum <br /> teaching materials that will give the proper weight and <br /> emphasis to the history of traditions of native peoples <br /> in this hemisphere. Where were 20 million people ply' here ,r <br /> ;{ when Columbus landed. This is part of a <br /> general <br /> awakening in this country to the importance of this{ <br /> subject and the fact that it ' s been somewhat neglected-. <br /> _ <br /> in the wast that it has been in the foes this <br /> ., particular year which, as you know is the quincenten ial <br /> :r year, the 500th anniversary of the landing of Columbus.. <br /> } : our program is a part of this general 'effort to work <br /> g <br /> with teachers and administrators within the schools. and:,,- <br /> of <br /> n - k <br /> ofr course, with students, teachers, and the general <br /> public on a program that is aimed for teachers and <br /> general public as well.
