MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JANUARY F Y 2 ,� 19 9 4 <br /> Minutes <br /> In attendance:, Chair Carole Dunivan, Maryanne Gibbs, David <br /> onsalvi and Dr. Elizabeth Putti, Janice Mills was absent. Dr. <br /> Lincoln DeMoura was also present. <br /> The special meeting of the Mashpee School Committee was called to <br /> order in the office or the Superintendent at 4 :37 p.m. by Chair <br /> Mrs. Dunivan. <br /> Dr, DeMoura recommended the Committee to approve the following 'tw <br /> ski trips: <br /> February 5, 1994 - Gunstock in Gilford, NH <br /> March 18-20, 1 4 Sunday. Diver in Bethel, ME <br /> Motion made by Ms. Gibbs and seconded by Mr. Consalvi to approve <br /> the ski trips as noted. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Also, Dr. DeMoura recommended approval of the second annum. <br /> Washington, D. C. trip for eighth graders. <br /> Motion made by Dr. Petti, seconded by Ms. Gibbs to approve the <br /> Superintendent's recommendation. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Dr. DeMoura said the purpose of this meeting was to begin the FY9 <br /> budget process discussion while reminding the Committee that the <br /> joint budget meeting between the School Council and School <br /> Committee will meet on Saturday, January 29, 1994 at 12:00 noon in _ <br /> the Middle School Library. <br /> The School. Committee budget workshop is scheduled for Saturday, <br /> February 19, 1994 in the Middle School Library at 12 :00 noon. <br /> Dr. DeMoura then discussed in detail the budget assumptions for the <br /> school system, Coombs school and the Middle School line item by <br /> line .item. The proposed budget is $2 million more than this year's <br /> budget with net operating costs totaling $7,229,503. Included in <br /> the assumptions were a Business Manager, a high school principal, <br /> a 25-day remedial mathematics and reading program (transportation <br /> not included) , and to reinstate the ' industrialants and home <br /> economics programs. <br /> r <br /> a <br />
