MAPEE SL COMMITTEE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> January 29, 1994 <br /> Minutes <br /> 4 <br /> In attendance: School Committee -- chair Carole Dunivan, Maryanne <br /> Gibbs and Dr. Elizabeth Petti who arrived at 12:23 p.m. David <br /> onsalvi and Janice Mills were absent. <br /> Administration - Superintendent of schools Dr. Lincoln A, DeMoura, <br /> Principals Betty Phillips and Nick Feldman. � <br /> Middle school School Council Members - Ann McCormick, Eileen <br /> ourgeault, Ed Allen, robin Trine, Karen Bacigalupi,, chief Curtis <br /> Frye, and lever-end Cynthia Green. Teachers Suzanne Craft, David <br /> velesig, Mary Durham, and Ellen Davis. <br /> The 3oint meeting between the school Committee and the Middle <br /> School School council was called to order by chair Mrs. Dunivan at <br /> 12:08 p.m. in the Library of the Mashpee Middle School, <br /> Dr. DeMoura stated that one requirement of the Education Deform Law <br /> is that the School Councils become involved in the school <br /> department's budget thus the purpose of today's meeting was to <br /> address the F 95 school budget. The School Committee had requested <br /> to bear an initial presentation by each school Council, <br /> First to be heard was the Middle school School council. Principal. <br /> Betty Phillips introduced the members (listed above) . She then <br /> presented the School Committee with a "wish list" including an <br /> alternative education program, a library assistant, a Grade 5 <br /> teacher, 4 junior varsity coaches, .6 hone economics teacher, . <br /> industrial arts teacher, $21,000 for new science textbooks as just <br /> some of requests. <br /> After the presentation, Mrs. Dunivan said a figure from the Finance <br /> Committee has not been given and the Committee had no questions at <br /> this time. She then asked the Council to prioritize their requests <br /> and discussion will continue at the next scheduled meeting set for <br /> Saturday, February 19, 1994 at noon. <br /> The session between the School Committee and Middle School School <br /> Council adjourned at 12 :50 p.m. in the Library of the Middle <br /> School* <br />
