i <br /> MASHPEE- S HOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING FEBRUAR 2 . 1994 PAGE 4 <br /> but, hopefully, this will be rectified next year. <br /> UPCO ring activities include the following: The Academy <br /> for the Performing Arts will be at Coombs on February <br /> 18, Corn Electric will be in this week to talk to Grade <br /> students, Seatbelt Safety program for all grades this <br /> week, Disability Awareness week will begin next week, <br /> the mural dedication tools place, the PTO's Pancake <br /> Breakfast was held on January 29, Grade 3 Jumprope for <br /> Heart taking place during the week of February 14 , <br /> report cards will be distributed on February 4, the <br /> School Council will meet to discuss their budget <br /> i priorities to prepare for the joint meeting with the <br /> School. Committee on February 19. <br /> Dar. Petti asked that letters of appreciation be sent t <br /> Michael Pietrowski and D.A.R.E. students who <br /> participated in telethon. Dr. DeMoura will handle. <br /> .4 monthly F 94 Budget Update - Included in the packet was <br /> new budget format showing the schools each grouped <br /> separately. Where were no questions at this time. <br /> 5*5 Enrollments - Dr. DeMoura said the current enrollment <br /> figures show a district-wide total of 1,585 with 52 at <br /> Cape Cod Tech. <br /> STI. 6, 1 1994-1995 School Calendar - A parent and teacher survey <br /> Specifically of the revised 1994-1995 school resulted in the <br /> Assigned/ following: Parents - 207 in favor; 70 not in favor; 8 <br /> Unfinished no preference. Teachers - 36 JLn favor; 50 not in <br /> Business favor. As a result, Dr. DeMoura recommended approval <br /> of the revised 1994-1995 school calendar to coincide <br /> with Falmouth's calendar. <br /> Motion made by Mr, Consalvi, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to <br /> approve recommendation, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> VII-0 leo discussion under "New Business,'' � <br /> New Business <br /> viii. 8. 1 Sub-Committee Reports <br /> Committee <br /> Reports 8. 1 . 1 Negotiations - To be discussed in executive <br /> sessi-on. <br /> 8. 1 .2 High School Committee - Dr. Petti said the <br /> Common Core of Learning meeting held on January 27 , <br /> 1994 was very informative and a lot of feedback and <br /> good suggestions were discussed. The regular high <br /> school committee met on January 10 and all is going <br /> well. The next high school committee meeting is <br /> set for Monday, February 28, 1994 . <br /> . F <br />
