Superintendent of Schools -Dr. Lincoln A. DeMoura <br /> was in attendance as well. Janice Mills was absent. <br /> Finance <br /> committee - Marcia King attended while Chairman <br /> Daniel Goggin, Tony Gallo, Deirdre Greeli h, Roger Dunivan, <br /> Denise � <br /> Sullivan and John Ferriday were absent. Absent Selectmen <br /> were Carol Jacobson, Chair Names Vaccaro and Judy Mills- <br /> Also in <br /> attendance were Assessing Director David A, Bailey, <br /> Assessor Leslie Greig, and Town Accountant Diane <br /> Rommel.meY r . Guest eakers were Senator Henri S. <br /> Ra.uschenbach and Representative Thomas S. Cahir. <br /> The meeting <br /> was called to order by School Comittee Chair <br /> Mrs. <br /> univan at 7 :07 p.m. in the Library of the middle <br /> School. <br /> Mrs Duan <br /> Ivan thea introduced Representative Thomas Cahir who <br /> discussed the -financial impact of the Education Reform A <br /> ct <br /> on <br /> he Town of Mashpee. For the past year, .of forts have- <br /> been made to increase the 5 state reimbursement from the <br /> School <br /> Building Assistance Bureau to a higher percentage for <br /> the <br /> construction of theJr, /Sr, High School. Both Senator <br /> Ratesp <br /> the bath and Representative Cahir said that although the <br /> formula used to. determine the reimbursement is very complex, <br /> Mashpee officials can argue to increase that percentage due <br /> to the <br /> fact that Mashpee is the only town in the state t <br /> first high school in the past years. Although Mr, Cahir <br /> compelling case n hopes f receiving <br /> thought Mashpee has �', 1 �� easy <br /> higher <br /> reimbursement, obtaining that rate wil <br /> task" because an increase for Mashpee could ern a decrease <br /> for another con unity due t the formula, Senator <br /> ted that it could be difficult o persuade <br /> Ruchenbach to <br /> fellow leitslator to approve a change in the formula and <br /> because of that pe legislators would haveseek <br /> g � <br /> additional state aid for their respective communities that <br /> could meet with Legislative approval@ <br /> h and Ir.
