Parents will <br /> be responsible for daily transportation to and from the <br /> school. Dr. DeMoura recommended approval. <br /> Ellen Shelton for son Christopher, Grade 1 <br /> Cathleen Sylvia for daughter May, Grade 1 <br /> Motion made by Dr. Petti, seconded by Mr. Consalvi, to <br /> approve the parental requests, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> VI. 6. 1 Reorgani at,ional Plan - Prompted by 3-nc 'e sing elementary <br /> Specifically enrollments, Dr. DeMoura gave an informational overview of a <br /> Assigned/ proposed reorgani at iona l plan which would create three K-6 <br /> Unfinished schools. After a review by parents, teachers, and adminis- <br /> usiness tration officials, it was decided that the best plan for <br /> Mashpee would be the following scenario (Option Four ) : <br /> Pro Points: <br /> Equity of resources <br /> Could reduce transportation costs <br /> More personal relationships between students and staf <br /> . Supported by research <br /> . Insures instructional continuity <br /> . Can be phased <br /> Allows for intergrade peer support <br /> Promotes the development of strong programs <br /> Con Points: <br /> Will require districting <br /> Organizational change will require the movement of several <br /> classrooms <br /> .After review of each program, Dr. DeMoura requesteda public, <br /> hearing with parents to discuss in detail. May 23, 1994 at <br /> 7 :00 p.m. in the Middle School Library was the date set for <br /> this meeting. Dr. DeMoura stressed that his presentation <br /> tonight was only informational and open to all concerned for <br /> input. <br /> Mr. Feldman addressed his memo regarding reorganization by <br /> precinct. <br /> Also, a meeting for seventh and eighth grade parents was <br /> scheduled to discuss enrollments. This meeting will tape <br /> place on Tuesday, June 7, 1994 at 7 :00 p.m. in the Middle <br /> School cafetorium. <br />
