S . <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MINUTES OF MARCH 1 , 1994 <br /> } <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Board were present : Robert Sullivan, Joe <br /> Dellagala, Marcia Lindsey, and Schuyler Wares , <br /> Meeting convened at 8 : 30 a.m . <br /> Resignati <br /> ,g <br /> on of Data Collector <br /> The Personnel Administrator advised the Board that Gregg Fraser <br /> resigned from his position as Data Collector effective as of March 18, <br /> 1994 . Approval has been received from the Board of Selectmen/Executive <br /> Secretary to start the advertising process * <br /> Interviews of ecial Police Officers <br /> The Board ,interviewed the following -candidates for Special Police <br /> Officer; Gary Dorman, Patric} Nally, Ralph Mahoney, Dolly Leclerc, and <br /> Theodore Baumeister. Chief Frye was present during the interview <br /> process but missed the Dorman interview due to late arrival ) . The <br /> hours, rate of pay, and a brief description of the position were <br /> reviewed with the candidates . Each candidate was asked set questions <br /> relating to job interest, motivation, and judgement . Work-related <br /> background, education and training was also reviewed with each <br /> applicant , <br /> At the conclusion of the interview process, the Board and the Chief <br /> narrowed down the selection process as follows : Stephen McDonald, Gary <br /> Dorman, William Kelleher, and Holly DeClerc . Background checks will be <br /> conducted on these candidates , ( Note : Stephen McDonald and William <br /> Kelleher were interviewed at the Board ' s meeting of March 7 ) . <br /> Meeting With Executive 'Secretary <br /> The Board met with Bob Whritenour to discuss the reclassification of <br /> the Administrative Assistant position in his office . A survey of the <br /> position which outlined what other towns on the - Cape pay for ,the <br /> position was presented to Bob , Bob Sullivan told the Executive <br /> Secretary that it is an issue that needs additional study . ' Bob <br /> Whritenour said that perhaps a job content comparison should be dome. <br /> He said that he has a situation . whre the current employee has a <br /> tremendous amount of experience and } nowlege. In the year and a Half <br /> he has been here, he has tried to bring experience more to bare and to <br /> have job enrichment tasks . The current encumbent is willing to learn <br /> new things, . take on new- tasks and grow with the job. He said that he <br /> wants to be sensitive to that , If the position needs additional study, <br /> thea we need to look at some things . He said he wants to have all <br /> decisions based on data and technical support, <br /> Bob Sullivan commented that every three -years the M.M.A. recommends a <br /> study be done of the positions . They have the expertise to do an <br /> analysis of positions . Bob commented that Jane Stockbridge was well <br /> qualified . She reviewed the positions too . However, only some things <br /> were accepted a piece at a time and the data became old when the farmer <br /> Executive Secretary finally brought it to the Selectmen . <br /> " F <br />
