}7 ` <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD PAGE <br /> MEETING OF MARCH 14, 1994 <br /> Marcia Lindsey said that she feels a consultant should come in . Bob <br /> Whritenour commented that the Human Resource Director position is still <br /> on the table . Bob Sullivan asked if that person would have the time <br /> and expertise? Bob. Whritenour said- that it would be anticipated that <br /> anyone in the position would be able to conduct a study. <br /> Bob Whritenour went on to say that it is important that we do not drop <br /> the ball . This is an area that requires additional study. <br /> With regard o other positions requesting reclassification, ( Library <br /> Assistant and Library Aide and Data Collector ), Marcia commented that <br /> they are by-passing Personnel . Bob said that he thought the utters <br /> were in front of the Personnel Board . Bob Sullivan said that the Board <br /> has not been asked to make recommendations on these positions . The <br /> only positions the' Board was asked to review were the Administrative <br /> Assistant and the Assistant Town Accountant . Bob Whritenour said that <br /> he would like the Board to look at the Library positions and the Data <br /> Collector position. <br /> Bob went on to say that the process is that it goes to the Personnel <br /> Board for review. He said the Board should get the information they <br /> will need to analyze the position. Bob suggested that the Board let <br /> the Selectmen know that they have not reviewed those positions and that <br /> the art'i les should be tabled . Reference was made to the article which <br /> was submitted by petition by the Town Clerk which has ruined morale . <br /> He said if we need technical -assistance, we should look at doing it . <br /> Bob Sul,livan suggested paying something to . ane Stockbridge t-o redo the <br /> study . He said it certainly is an option where she has clone the review <br /> and looked at the positions' ,' <br /> Bob Whritenour said that he would like to get the message out that they <br /> value what the Board is ding . Bob Whritenour said that it would <br /> help them by talking with the managers and- getting a feel f r - thyeir <br /> departments . They could asl if there is anything the Board could do t <br /> help . <br /> Reference was made to the smoking policy. Bob Whritenour said that if <br /> e have a smoking problem, we need to. get standarized work rules for <br /> all . Bob suggested that the Board, work with Gus Frederick who could <br /> help with a smoking cessation , <br /> Bob went on to say that the Board has some action items to work on: <br /> 1 Smoking Cessation Begin to discuss personnel issues with <br /> Department Heads and dear what the concerns are . Regia to think <br /> about ' how we are going to get funding for the wage and classification <br /> plan to be updated in a fashion that is not piece meal . Bob said that <br /> we do meed to do some additional study. The 'Board of Selectmen do not <br /> want to put anything qn the warrant without the advise of the Personnel <br />
