R + <br /> •r <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES <br /> MEETING of SEPTEMBER 1 , 1994 PAGE <br /> Interview „Date - Economic eve102men ,.,,', e r tars <br /> The Board asked that a date for interviews for the Economic Development <br /> Secretary be coordinated with Sid Stern, Chairman of the Economic <br /> Development Committee . <br /> Compensatory Time <br /> Relative to the compensatory time issue brought up by the Finance <br /> Committee at a recent, meeting, Joe commented that he felt the Board <br /> should leave it alone and that there are a lot of other ways to save <br /> money. Schuyler wires asked what the issue was? Discussion centered <br /> around exempt and nor -exempt status of positions . All Board members <br /> were in agreement that compensatory time was not an issue . <br /> Meeting adjourned at 12 ; 45 p .m . <br /> At approximately 1 : 15 p .m. , Selectman Mills, liaison to Personnel , 'met <br /> with Chairman Del agala relative to the Board ' s request ., Discussion <br /> centered around the update of the P.A.P . Selectmen Mills commented <br /> that she would like to see ' two ' separate sa�arr structures -- one for <br /> management and one for employees . She also mentioned- that she would <br /> like to see language in the P . A. P . relative to Mass , General Laws and <br /> any conflict . <br /> With regard to the action plan, Joe asked Selectman Mills to review it <br /> and give any input which she m,ay have . Some of Judy ' s concerns related <br /> to items ~3, 11 , and 13 , Judy asked that the word "all " be removed from <br /> item 3 . In item 11 , she recommended that it be charged to read : 'or <br /> fairness and legalities , the Personnel Board should be involved in the <br /> hiring and terminating- of employees" . In item 13, she suggested it be <br /> changed to read ; "'In- order to maintain consistency and to improve <br /> moral , problems should be brought to the attention of the immediate <br /> supervisor. If not solved at this level, then to the Executive <br /> Secretary. If not- solved a't that level , hien to the Personnel Board ; " <br /> "Documentation f the process should go to the Personnel Board .
