PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES MEETING OF ,SEPTEMBER l ., 1994 PAGE 2 'ull--'dime Dis.patcher. Chief . ' rye advised the Board that he planned to submit an article for full-.time Dispatcher at the May Annual Town Meeting . Currently, the department has five full-time dispatchers and approximately five part-time dispatchers . Two full-time dispatchers are on during the day, two dispatchers are on during the evening, and one dispatcher is on at night . The Chief explained instead of having part-time dispatchers, he would lite another full-time dispatcher . He said that they are continually training part-time dispatchers every year. Joe cor went d that there would have to be benefits with: another position if it were full-time . He asked the Chief for figures of what the town will sage . The Chief again stressed that they are looking, for dependability a they have lost about five part- time dispatchers . Joe said that he wanted to know what the benefits will cast . He would like some justification to sell the need for another full-time dispatcher. The Chief' replied that it will be better for the town and that initially it would cost more . Currently, they are using the full-time dispatchers to cove- the extra workload and paying them on a time and a half basis . The Chief said that he would get all the figures which are in the computer. The Board agreed to meet with the Chief again in two weeks , Recommendations for Full-Time Police Officer— The fficer ..The Chief told the Board that they are looking to put on a full-time police officer by the end of the month, and that he would like to recommend Hol,1y Le lerc for the position. He said that Holly has had the training having worked for the Town of Yarmouth for three summer seasons . 'In addition to this, Holly Leclerc is a Mashpee resident . The Chief said that he also wanted another women on the department as a police officer. The Board told the Chief that they were in concurrence with his recom- mendation to recommend Holly Leclerc for a full-time police officer position . Consultant Specifications The Personnel Administrator 'passed out a copy of specifications for a consultant which the Board had prepared last Spring . She mentioned that it' was in more detail than what is .currently being requested, however, she asked that they review it so that we can discuss the specifications at our ne t� Board meeting . P .
