PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES <br /> MEETING OF ,SEPTEMBER l ., 1994 PAGE 2 <br /> 'ull--'dime Dis.patcher. <br /> Chief . ' rye advised the Board that he planned to submit an article for <br /> full-.time Dispatcher at the May Annual Town Meeting . Currently, the <br /> department has five full-time dispatchers and approximately five <br /> part-time dispatchers . Two full-time dispatchers are on during the <br /> day, two dispatchers are on during the evening, and one dispatcher is <br /> on at night . The Chief explained instead of having part-time <br /> dispatchers, he would lite another full-time dispatcher . He said that <br /> they are continually training part-time dispatchers every year. <br /> Joe cor went d that there would have to be benefits with: another <br /> position if it were full-time . He asked the Chief for figures of what <br /> the town will sage . <br /> The Chief again stressed that they are looking, for dependability a <br /> they have lost about five part- time dispatchers . <br /> Joe said that he wanted to know what the benefits will cast . He would <br /> like some justification to sell the need for another full-time <br /> dispatcher. The Chief' replied that it will be better for the town and <br /> that initially it would cost more . Currently, they are using the <br /> full-time dispatchers to cove- the extra workload and paying them on a <br /> time and a half basis . The Chief said that he would get all the <br /> figures which are in the computer. The Board agreed to meet with the <br /> Chief again in two weeks , <br /> Recommendations for Full-Time Police Officer— <br /> The <br /> fficer ..The Chief told the Board that they are looking to put on a full-time <br /> police officer by the end of the month, and that he would like to <br /> recommend Hol,1y Le lerc for the position. He said that Holly has had <br /> the training having worked for the Town of Yarmouth for three summer <br /> seasons . 'In addition to this, Holly Leclerc is a Mashpee resident . <br /> The Chief said that he also wanted another women on the department as a <br /> police officer. <br /> The Board told the Chief that they were in concurrence with his recom- <br /> mendation to recommend Holly Leclerc for a full-time police officer <br /> position . <br /> Consultant Specifications <br /> The Personnel Administrator 'passed out a copy of specifications for a <br /> consultant which the Board had prepared last Spring . She mentioned <br /> that it' was in more detail than what is .currently being requested, <br /> however, she asked that they review it so that we can discuss the <br /> specifications at our ne t� Board meeting . <br /> P . A .P. eview <br /> The Board agreed to postpone the review of the P.A . P. to their next <br /> regular meeting , <br />
