PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING OF NOVEMBER 21 # 1994 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN MALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Boar <br /> were present .- Chairman <br /> Joseph Dellagala.- Ronald Levine. and Marcia Lindsey, <br /> Chairman Dellagala convened the meeting at : 00 a . m. <br /> Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Marcia Lindsay moved to accept -the minutes of Oct , 17 ,, 2 4 , 3 I and <br /> Nov. <br /> 1 . Ron Levine seconded . All in favor. <br /> Linda Young - JTEC <br /> Linda Young from J EC Job Training Employment Corporation ) met with <br /> the board to discuss the cervi- es which her organization tion offers such as <br /> job search and placement assistance for people who have been laid off <br /> from their jobs or handicapped -individual , ve erans, etc . Linda <br /> explained that' it is free employment agency . Th'ey- basically network <br /> and help people fin 3 lobs . 'hey screen the clients, they have inte'r- <br /> riewing workshops , help thea write resumes . etc , <br /> Ran Levine asked how long JTEC has been in exi8tence . Linda replied <br /> eleven years and that it was formerly CE A . Joe asked if the <br /> candidates were given a personality test's Linda replied "yes . for the <br /> skills , " <br /> Ron Levine asked. what her organization had to do with the 'down of <br /> Mashpee? Linda replied that it was another avenue for thea to know <br /> about in terms of recruiting candidates. <br /> Linda explained that as a job developer, - -he talks to companies in <br /> order to find out about their organization and s.he helps and <br /> facilitates clients in getting a job . She explained that the <br /> Department of unemployment lets people know about JTE , - Linda also <br /> explained the pctentlal savings a company can receive if they hire a <br /> client from J E , <br /> All Ca EmDLQ_yee Assistance <br /> Gail Wilson-Greene met with the Personnel Board to explain her <br /> company ' s services . The All Cape Employee Assistance program gives <br /> managers and supervisors ways to refer employees if there is an <br /> on-the-job problerg . Employees can voluntarily call a confidential <br /> telephone number if they choose to seek assistance on their own . All <br /> Cape pail also see family members of an employee.-. The information is <br /> con-f ident ial un-less the employee signs a release to the 'All Cape <br /> Assistance Program . <br /> GailWilson-Greene does the initial assessment and referrals herself . <br /> There is a small fee per person for the whole year up to four vislts . <br />
